Chapter 820 Yan Bao'er is Robbed (2)

"Nan Nan, I didn't mean to. I was just anxious. I'm sorry, I won't cry anymore," Liu Lili quickly apologized.

Yan Xiaonan shook her head. As a mother herself, she understood Liu Lili's anxious state of mind.

"Second sister-in-law, you don't need to worry too much. After all, your mother is Yan Bao'er's maternal grandmother. I think they only want money and won't hurt Yan Bao'er."

With the year-end approaching and another troublesome son on her mind, Liu Lili's mother wanted to ask her daughter for some money, but she knew Liu Lili would definitely refuse, so she resorted to this desperate measure.

They were all ignorant of the law and didn't realize that even if it was Grandma, what she did was illegal, or even a crime. It all depended on whether Southwest and Liu Lili wanted to let them off the hook.

Southwest listened to Liu Lili repeat herself, and her face turned very pale. It seemed that the lesson she had given the mother and son last time was not enough.

He glanced at Yan Xiaonan and said, "Nannan, I'm borrowing Xu Da for a while. You don't need to worry about this for now."

Yan Xiaonan nodded. It was impossible to ignore it; after all, Xu Da was just a security guard at a factory, and his skills weren't that impressive.

Hearing the commotion in the courtyard, Ye Ren came over to listen for a while, then silently returned to his study, picked up the phone, and a few minutes later, a car drove out from outside the backyard. Yan Xiaonan glanced gratefully at Ye Ren's study.

Grandpa is so kind; he takes everything concerning the Yan family to heart. It seems I need to speed things up even more.

Specialists took action, and Liu Lili's mother was quickly found. She hid in a house with her son and Yan Bao'er, while a man watched from outside.

Ye Ren's men quietly withdrew and then contacted the police to have the area monitored. They were to be arrested when the men went to collect the money.

Yan Xinan and Liu Lili returned to the staff dormitory first. Yan Xinan thought that since Liu Lili's mother could take Bao'er and not go home, it meant that someone was directing them, and that person would definitely come looking for him.

Southwest guessed correctly. When he returned home and opened the door, a letter lay quietly on the floor. It seemed that someone had secretly slipped the letter under the door when no one was home.

“Yan Xinan, brother, I’m a little short on cash right now, so I wanted to borrow some money from you. But your wife won’t come to the door, so I have no choice but to resort to this. Prepare two thousand yuan and put it on the windowsill at your wife’s parents’ house. I will return your daughter to you once I get the money.”

Southwest looked at the letter with its crooked handwriting and sneered. He had seen fools before, but never anyone this foolish that he would even choose to keep his money at home.

Southwest instructed Liu Lili to withdraw two thousand yuan from the bank, place the money directly on the windowsill of her parents' house, and then go home, lock the door, and not go anywhere else or open the door for anyone.

He then left with Xu Da, and the two went to Liu Lili's parents' house. Instead of going through the front, they jumped over the back wall to enter.

He knew that there was a window at the back of Liu Lili's house, so if the Liu family wanted to take the money, they definitely wouldn't enter through the front door; they would have to go through this road.

The two quickly found a window sill where they could see the money but was also relatively secluded. That's the good thing about the tenement; everyone wanted to occupy the common area, so there were a lot of miscellaneous items piled up in the open space, which made things convenient for Southwest and Xu Da.

Through the crack, he saw Liu Lili place a wad of money on the windowsill and then quickly leave. Southwest became nervous; he wanted to see who had such malicious intentions.

I don't know how much time passed, but it got completely dark. Most of the people in the courtyard closed their doors, turned off their lights, and went to sleep. Apart from the snoring, everything in the courtyard was still. Fortunately, the moon was still bright tonight, and the visibility was not bad.

Xu Da's ears twitched. He glanced behind him and vaguely saw a figure flash by. It was someone who had jumped down from the wall, just like him and Xinan, scaling the wall to enter.

Judging from the sound of his landing, this guy was a regular at this kind of thing; his wall-climbing skills were simply superb. He made a gesture to the southwest and quietly crouched down to move backward.

Southwest also made a gesture to indicate that he had seen it, his eyes fixed on the stack of money on the windowsill. He wanted to see who dared to touch his precious daughter.

Xu Da slowly moved to the back and, sure enough, saw a figure using a tool in his hand to open the back window, then jump in, sneer, and stand by the back window waiting.

Southwest stared intently at the windowsill. Sure enough, the window opened from the inside, a hand reached out, grabbed a wad of money, and quickly closed the window.

Southwest slowly walked towards the back window, waiting with Xu Da on either side. Sure enough, a figure jumped out, not forgetting to close the back window.

Just as he was about to close the window, Southwest spoke very quietly: "Hello, brother-in-law, I've been waiting for you for a long time."

The man's face changed in fright. He looked in the direction of the sound and saw a familiar face looking at him mockingly. Without thinking, he turned and tried to run away.

But Xu Da grabbed him by the back of his collar, and at the same time, a rag was stuffed into his mouth by Xinan to prevent any accomplices outside from alerting him.

The two men escorted the brother-in-law out, intending to hand him over to the police station. Xu Da had already reported the case by phone before leaving the house, and they would bring the suspect to the police station once they caught him.

Unexpectedly, police officers were already waiting outside. They had already obtained firsthand information and were just waiting for Xu Da to report the case. Upon hearing Xu Da's report, they immediately made arrangements.

As Xu Da and Xinan escorted their brother-in-law out of the compound, they saw a car suddenly turn on its headlights. The headlights almost blinded the three of them, and they involuntarily closed their eyes.

In the short time it took for him to close his eyes, his brother-in-law had already been handcuffed by the police officers waiting nearby, and the two thousand yuan in his pocket would serve as strong evidence of his crime.

Meanwhile, the man who was keeping Yan Bao'er in the house, the lookout, and the messenger who had been following Xu Lili all the way have all been arrested.

Police officers were breaking down the door. They had been knocking properly, but all they heard was Yan Bao'er crying, and no one answered.

In a moment of panic, they prepared to break down the door. The little girl was probably terrified, as she kept screaming when she heard the sound of the door being broken down, which annoyed Liu Lili's mother so much that she slapped her.

The slap was so forceful that it knocked Yan Bao'er off the bed and onto the floor, where her head hit the ground. The girl fell silent instantly. Just then, the police broke down the door and witnessed everything.
