Chapter 854 Outing (3)

Yan Xiaonan frowned and scanned the interior with his divine sense. Inside the East Hall, there was nothing but some wooden frames.

However, it appears to have been renovated on the surface, with exquisitely painted beams and carved pillars, as well as floor tiles and corresponding red-painted shelves and railings.

"Is anyone here? Can we come in?" Yan Xiaonan asked from outside.

No one answered, and Ye Enming kept twisting her body, trying to go inside.

Yan Xiaonan had no choice but to carry him inside, following Ye Enming's instructions to walk to a corner on the right.

At this moment, Yan Xiaonan noticed a small hole, about the size of a cup, in the corner of the wall. How could there be a small hole in a newly renovated wall? Yan Xiaonan couldn't help but squat down to take a look.

However, Yan Xiaonan was still cautious. She took several steps back and turned her body to the side, shielding Enming behind her before squatting down.

His consciousness surged toward the cave entrance. Inside, there seemed to be a small animal, which looked somewhat like a kitten.

A pair of bright green eyes watched Yan Xiaonan nervously. Yan Xiaonan used the aura of the mountain god to lure the kitten. The kitten sniffed and slowly poked its head out of the hole.

The mountain god's aura was slightly amplified, continuing to lure the kitten. Finally, the kitten mustered up the courage to come to Yan Xiaonan's side.

Oh dear, this face isn't that of a kitten, but rather that of a newborn fox cub. Yan Xiaonan finally got a good look at the little animal.

This little fox is pure white, without a single stray hair on its body; however, its four paws are black.

Ye Enming wriggled to get down, and Yan Xiaonan carefully put the little one down. She also wanted to see what would happen.

When the little fox saw Enming, its tail twitched up and down as it wobbled towards Ye Enming.

Ye Enming squatted down, and the little fox leaped into Ye Enming's arms. Because Ye Enming had not mastered her balance at all, she fell flat on her bottom when the little fox jumped.

Yan Xiaonan quickly bent down to pull it, but the little fox bared its teeth at her. Luckily, she pulled her hand back quickly, or she would probably have been bitten.

When Ye Enming saw that the little fox dared to approach her mother's cave entrance, she punched it with her backhand.

The little fist smacked the little fox on the head, making the little fox roll over three times before it stopped.

"You bastard, how dare you bite my mother! I don't want you anymore!" Ye Enming said, then stood up and pulled Yan Xiaonan away.

The little fox followed pitifully behind, and when it saw Ye Enming running faster and faster, it started to scream.

Yan Xiaonan was worried that the screams might attract something bad. After all, they were in a foreign place, and keeping a low profile was the best policy.

“Baby, the little fox bit Mommy to protect you. Mommy thinks the little fox probably doesn’t know I’m your mommy, so let’s forgive it this time, okay?” Yan Xiaonan discussed with Ye Enming.

Ye Enming thought about it and realized that he was also reluctant to part with the little fox. He didn't know why, but he was basically powerless against the cubs of animals.

"Okay, Mom."

Ye Enming nodded in agreement, then turned to the little fox and said:

"This is my mother, and many other people who will be with us later are my family. You can't bite them, you know?"

The little fox didn't know if it could understand, but it knew that its little master had agreed to let it go with him.

Ye Enming picked up the little fox, and Yan Xiaonan picked up Ye Enming in turn. The two people and the beast ran towards the main hall.

Grandma Yan had finished praying to Buddha and was anxiously searching for Yan Xiaonan. When she saw Yan Xiaonan carrying Enming as they walked in, she happily went to greet them.

But when she saw the little fox, her eyes widened involuntarily. She remembered the picture books she had read when she was a child, and those foxes, especially the white fox, were all bad things.

"Nannan, is this fox male or female?" Grandma Yan asked.

Yan Xiaonan immediately guessed what Grandma Yan was thinking and couldn't help but find it amusing. However, she still scanned the area with her divine sense and thankfully, it was a male.

“It’s a male, it’s alright. It’s too small to become a spirit,” Yan Xiaonan said softly.

When Grandma Yan heard that it couldn't become a spirit, she finally felt relieved. Anyway, if her precious granddaughter said it couldn't be, then it definitely couldn't be.

Uncle Wen came out with a young monk and beckoned Yan Xiaonan and Ye Chenming to enter the inner hall.

The young monk then invited Grandma Yan and the others to tour the entire Guandi Temple, and even took them to the temple's dining hall for a vegetarian meal.

Ye Chenming took his youngest son from Yan Xiaonan and followed Uncle Wen towards the back hall.

After entering through a side door of the rear hall and passing through a small courtyard, we finally stepped into the house, which was filled with a rich sandalwood fragrance.

Yan Xiaonan's divine sense constantly enveloped the entire Guandi Temple. She not only cared about Ye Ren's safety, but also about the movements of Grandma Yan and the others.

Ye Ren and an old monk were playing Go on a traditional kang (heated brick bed). Judging from the board, they had entered a dead end.

Seeing Uncle Wen enter with three people, the old monk put down the chess piece in his hand and said, "Ah Ren is still so understanding."

Ye Ren also put down his chess piece, smiled and waved his hand, pointing at Ye Chenming and Yan Xiaonan, saying, "Look, this is my grandson, and next to him is Yan Xiaonan, the matriarch of my Ye family."

The monk's eyes swept over Yan Xiaonan and stared straight at the little fox in Ye Enming's arms.

"Where did you find it?" the old monk asked.

Yan Xiaonan said somewhat embarrassedly, "Enming found it in a hole in the wall. That was a side hall, and it was still under renovation."

The old monk nodded, glanced at Ye Ren, and said, "This little fellow is your great-grandson, isn't he? Your Ye family's ancestral graves must be emitting auspicious smoke. You should go there directly tomorrow."

Ye Ren nodded, quickly stood up, put his hands together in prayer, and bowed slightly to the old monk.

Then, he led Ye Chenming and the others out of the house and walked out very quickly, which startled Uncle Wen, who hurriedly stepped forward to help him.

Yan Xiaonan's consciousness was still focused on the old monk, but gradually, the old monk's face began to blur, until even the back hall could not be seen clearly.

Yan Xiaonan was startled. Everyone says there are people above you and heavens beyond heavens. Today she has witnessed how extraordinary this old monk is.

The old monk's skill was truly profound; he was able to shield himself from his own supernatural abilities.

"Nan Nan, do not look at what is improper, do not listen to what is improper, do not speak what is improper, do not do what is improper," Ye Ren's voice came from the front.

Yan Xiaonan was truly frightened. He immediately withdrew all his divine sense and whispered to Enming, "Never use your eyes to bully people."
