Chapter 865 Outing (14)

Grandma Yan kept watching the red, black, and spotted fish swimming around in the water, and they even swam towards her in groups.

She felt she had something to brag about when she returned to Mushroom Village, with its bustling Shanghai and the dazzling Huangpu River.

The skyscrapers, the sea, the airplanes, the private yachts, and so many Western-style buildings and all sorts of other structures—oh, there are just too many!

How did they manage to make the lake water so clear? Even the river in their Mushroom Village isn't this clean.

Grandma Yan chatted happily with the children and Cuihua, occasionally slipping out a few words of their hometown dialect when they got excited.

Zhang Jun frowned almost imperceptibly. Could it be that the young master's family didn't come from the capital, but from a small mountain village?

So what qualities did this young master possess that made the old master so interested in him? Let's not just say it was his ridiculously handsome face.

By the way, her face—a mother who has given birth to three children can't possibly still have the youthful face of a college student.

Zhang Jun seemed to have grasped the key to what made this woman stay young forever, but he couldn't break the deadlock.

Forget it, I'll just ask Ye'er later. She'll definitely find out eventually; there's no such thing as a secret that stays hidden forever.

By the way, everyone knows that secrets don't stay hidden forever, so Zhang Sheng's affair must have been exposed.

For a moment, Zhang Jun was at a loss. Calm down, he had to stay calm, Zhang Jun silently commanded himself.

Rather than giving the young master and the others a handle to use against him, Zhang Jun's mind raced.

Quietly pulling Ye Ren aside, Uncle Wen quickly followed. Zhang Jun was somewhat embarrassed; the fewer people who knew about these things, the better.

"Go ahead and say it, Xiaowen is one of us."

Ye Ren had already guessed what Zhang Jun wanted to say; it seemed that Zhang Jun was a person who could make quick decisions.

But you must tell Nan Nan that he shouldn't be allowed to sit in an important position; such a person is too ambitious.

“Master, Zhang Sheng was cheated and incurred some debts, but he did not tell us in time. Instead, he misappropriated public funds.”

I've already added some of it. Actually, I still have savings. On one hand, adding it all might not be enough, and on the other hand, I really don't want to spend it all, so... ..."

"So you falsified the accounts to try and get away with it? Does Ye Er know about this?" Ye Ren asked.

Okay, so they all knew. Zhang Jun was glad he had come out: "I swear on my life, Ye Er didn't know."

Ye Ren nodded. Ye Er wasn't good at finance; she could only understand basic financial statements, but not the intricacies within them.

"What are you planning to do?" Ye Ren asked.

Zhang Jun controlled his emotions and slowly said:

"Please, patriarch, don't report this to the police. Let's settle this privately. I'll use all my savings to cover it, and if it's not enough, I'll deduct it from my welfare benefits later, okay?"

"You're not going to tell Ye Er that you're going to deduct it from your welfare benefits?" Ye Wen asked.

Zhang Jun shook his head. Ye Er was too righteous. If she found out that her son had embezzled the head of the family's property, she would probably sever all ties with him.

Ye Ren nodded. He knew Ye Er's temper, and besides, Zhang Sheng was Ye Er's biological son; he had to show him this much kindness.

"I'm only giving you one chance. If you do it again, you'll be punished for both crimes," Ye Ren said.

Zhang Jun was shocked. "You all, this actually includes Ye Er, right? The old patriarch is really ruthless."

With his mind at ease, Zhang Jun became noticeably more active. He eagerly booked tickets, eager to enjoy boating on the beautiful and clear Lake Elster.

They rented three small boats, and Grandma Yan and the others rowed them on the lake. Ye Feng even sang a song at the top of her lungs.

Hearing Ye Feng sing, Grandma Yan thought of her own son, Liu Jin. That boy really sang well; she wondered how he was doing now.

It's a pity Nan Nan isn't here, otherwise I could ask her how this guy is doing now.

"Mom, Ye Feng sings quite well too," Cuihua said happily, hugging Tie Jun.

"No one sings as well as my Liujin," Yan Xiaoqiang quickly interjected.

"Yes, I wonder how filming is going with that little guy Liu Jin. He should be almost done by now." Cuihua also missed Liu Jin.

"Ask Nannan tonight; it's not good for her to be away from home all the time," Grandma Yan said.

Yan Xiaoqiang nodded. Liu Jin was his eldest grandson, and he had to keep him by his side.

"Mom, this place is so beautiful. I really want to stay here."

Cuihua glanced at the blue sky and white clouds, and the colorful sails dotting the lake, with swans gracefully gliding through the shimmering water.

Grandma Yan nodded. This place is beautiful too, but after all, it's her hometown, Mushroom Village. The mountains and rivers of her hometown are still the most beautiful.

Ye Ren glanced at his watch and realized it was almost time to go home after spending the afternoon sightseeing.

The group finally reached the shore, and Ye Wen drove the car towards the small villa.

The house was quiet; apart from the two guards, there was no one else there. Zhang Jun quickly opened the front door and was the first to go inside.

The guards saluted Ye Ren. Their job was to guard the house and prevent any accidents from happening when no one was home.

Ye Ren and the others didn't take a nap today and felt exhausted, so they quickly went back to their rooms to shower and rest.

Ye Enming started to get noisy, wanting to find his mother, ignoring the little fox making all sorts of strange faces beside him.

Cuihua was so anxious that she had no choice but to go with Yan Xiaoqiang to hold Enming at the door and wait there, so they could be the first to see Yan Xiaonan come home.

Tie Jun followed along, and Ye Enmin's mama's boy behavior stirred up sadness in him; he also missed his mother.

Just as I was about to shed tears, I suddenly remembered that I was already a thirteen-year-old adult, so how could I cry?

"Little brother, I miss Mom and Dad too, but they are very, very far away from me. Your parents will be home tonight," Tie Jun comforted En Ming.

When Cuihua heard Tiejun's words, she became really anxious. Enming missed her mother, and Yan Xiaonan could still come back tonight, but Tiejun missed his mother. Where was his mother now? What should they do?

As dusk fell, Yan Xiaonan, Ye Chenming, and the others finally returned. Ye Wen's financial acumen was truly remarkable; he immediately identified all the problems.

Ye Er hadn't expected there to be a embezzler in the company. Judging from the method, it wasn't very sophisticated, but she just couldn't detect it.

Just as Ye Er was deeply blaming himself for his dereliction of duty, Ye Wen asked a question: "Do you know who embezzled it?"

Ye Er said fiercely, "I don't care who embezzled it, I'm calling the police, and they'll definitely take action."

"What if it's your own family?" Ye Wen asked.
