Chapter 481 Wedding Night

When Jiang Zhixing was little, he always followed his older brother Jiang Zhiyuan around and played. Feng Yifei and the others watched him grow up, and they looked at him like their own younger brother.

After Jiang Zhiyuan was sent to the countryside, Jiang Zhixing received a lot of help from Feng Yifei and others in Beijing.

During those two years, Jiang Zhixing was able to hold his own against the Gu brothers, Gu Dajun and Gu Daikui, in the Gu family, thanks in no small amount of guidance from his brothers, including Jiang Zhiyuan.

So even though Jiang Zhixing is a promising young talent highly regarded by his superiors at work, he's really a little brother in front of these guys, and they tease him about him.

It wasn't until Jiang Zhiyuan brought Xu Ningyan in that everyone became a little more serious, calling her "sister-in-law" and "sister-in-law" respectively.

Because of Jiang Zhiyuan's attitude, everyone treated Xu Ningyan with goodwill.

Even while chatting, they didn't forget to bring Xu Ningyan into the conversation.

They're all shrewd people; if they don't want to neglect someone, they can definitely make them feel like they're bathed in a spring breeze, like old friends at first sight.

Fortunately, Xu Ningyan wasn't a clueless village girl. Although she didn't talk much, whenever she did, her words were always meaningful.

Jiang Zhiyuan's brothers exchanged glances subtly.

I used to think that Jiang Zhiyuan wanted to marry Xu Ningyan because she saved his life, and I felt that he was being wronged.

Now it seems they were being superficial! Xu Ningyan didn't say much, but she seemed to understand what they were saying, could respond to their questions, and was poised and confident without showing any timidity; she was clearly no ordinary woman.

Looking at Jiang Zhiyuan, his eyes were gentle, and even when he was talking to them, he kept glancing at Xu Ningyan out of the corner of his eye.

Xu Ningyan's teacup was empty, but she didn't even notice that Jiang Zhiyuan had silently refilled it.

When Xu Ningyan spoke, he would look at her with a smile, his eyes only on her.

After Xu Ningyan finished speaking, the two would exchange a knowing smile.

She would quietly peel a handful of sunflower seeds and then push them to Xu Ningyan.

...

Let alone the two who aren't married, even the married ones are making my teeth ache just looking at them.

How come they didn't know before that Jiang Zhiyuan was such a love-struck fool? Judging by this, he's definitely going to be henpecked from now on!

Before we knew it, evening had arrived, and we were chatting and laughing.

Aunt Wang from next door readily agreed to come and help. With Jiang Yuan and Jiang Zhixing assisting, they quickly prepared a table full of food.

In addition to the fish and meat dishes made from the leftover ingredients from lunch, we also added a braised lamb dish.

It was the sheep that the chief of staff had given us. We stewed a big pot of mutton with carrots, and the aroma of the meat filled the air.

Since we were all close friends at home, such delicious food naturally deserved good wine.

Jiang Zhiyuan took out two bottles of Moutai, and those who had been hesitant immediately said they could have a couple of drinks.

Fortunately, everyone knew their limits and the drinking only lasted until dark, ending before 7 p.m.

Duan Baiyan slurred a bit, patting Jiang Zhixing's shoulder: "Little Jiang, don't worry, we know what we're doing! We won't get your brother drunk! We know it's his wedding night! He's been a monk for a thousand years, how could we, as his brothers, make things difficult for him? We're leaving now, let them enjoy their wedding night—"

Before he could finish speaking, Wan Hong covered his mouth.

He smiled apologetically at Jiang Zhiyuan and Xu Ningyan: "Old Duan has had too much to drink and is talking nonsense! We'll leave now, we'll leave now."

Everyone tactfully took their leave.

Xu Ningyan wanted to help clean up the mess, but Jiang Yuan and Jiang Zhixing stopped her.

Tell her to go back to her room and rest.

After cleaning up the mess, Jiang Yuan said she had to go back to the hospital for her shift, and Jiang Zhixing also said he had to go to work early the next morning and had to go back to the dormitory.

The mother and son were of one mind and left the entire courtyard to the newlyweds.

Even Jiang Zhiyuan, who was usually unfazed by the collapse of Mount Tai, couldn't help but feel his face burning.

After walking around the yard twice, he tentatively suggested, "Yan Yan, why don't you go take a bath first?"

Xu Ningyan was also a little uneasy. Although she knew that taking a shower was to get clean so that people could eat her, sitting there was even more awkward. She might as well use the shower to do some mental preparation.

He nodded and grabbed a change of clothes before heading to the bathroom.

She had just showered yesterday, but since she was wearing makeup today and had been making a fuss all day, she really needed to take another shower.

While showering, I kept encouraging myself: What's there to be afraid of! I'm finally going to enjoy those V-shaped waists and eight-pack abs today, I can't let them down!

I'm several decades old in both my past and present lives, and I haven't even gotten a bite of meat.

Today, no matter what, we have to taste meat!

I made up my mind and gritted my teeth to leave.

He was then wrapped in a coat by Jiang Zhiyuan, who was waiting at the door, and half-carried, half-embraced as he entered the house.

He patiently dried Xu Ningyan's hair, letting her sit by the stove to dry it, while he took his clothes and went to take a shower.

Xu Ningyan, wrapped in a military overcoat, entered the new house.

The doors and windows were decorated with large red "double happiness" characters.

In the center of the room stood a 1.5-meter double bed, covered with bright red sheets and duvet covers, and pillowcases adorned with a striking design of mandarin ducks playing in the water, a very distinctive feature of this era.

The rest of the furnishings were similar to those in my previous room.

There was only one more dressing table.

Xu Ningyan looked at the bed in the middle of the room and her first reaction was to shake it, but it didn't move.

Hmm, it's quite sturdy, that's good!

You know, in the period novels I've read before, the male and female protagonists sometimes slept on a broken bed or a kang (heated brick bed) on their wedding night; sometimes the bed was of poor quality and creaked so loudly that people could hear it in the middle of the night; and sometimes they died halfway through their period.

Anyway, all sorts of bizarre wedding nights.

She didn't want to make a fool of herself like that, so she had to make sure everything went perfectly.

I checked out the new house. The bed was fine, and I hadn't gotten my period, so everything should be okay.

Hearing that the first night would be very painful, Xu Ningyan decided to mentally review excerpts from erotic novels she had read before, hoping to minimize her suffering.

As soon as I turned around, I bumped into a hot, steamy embrace filled with the smell of soap.

Looking up, I met Jiang Zhiyuan's dark, burning eyes, and my legs went weak.

She nervously swallowed, wanting to say something to ease the tension, but before she could open her mouth, a hot, familiar breath pressed down on her. Her lips were pried open, and a nimble tongue slid into her mouth, dancing with her own...

Xu Ningyan no longer knew when she fell asleep.

Anyway, by the time she woke up, it was already broad daylight, and there were people talking outside.

Xu Ningyan blinked and stared blankly for a moment before coming back to her senses.

I touched the watch under my pillow; it was seven o'clock. Luckily, it wasn't too late.

When I turned over and got up, I realized that my clothes had been changed and my body was dry and comfortable.

Anyway, while I was asleep last night, someone who had just broken his vows was still working hard, so he must have cleaned up afterwards.

However, I didn't feel as bad as described in the novel, as if my whole body had been crushed or my bones had been dismantled and reassembled.
