Upon seeing Xu Ningyan, Xu Yinlai cleared his throat, intending to say a few conciliatory words first.

After being rescued, Xu Yewu's legs gave way and he sat down on the riverbank, panting heavily.
Shen Yue'e rushed over, crying as she checked on Xu Yewu to see if he was alright.
When Xu Yin saw that her son was alright, she turned around and looked at Xu Ningyan, who seemed unaffected, and her eyes reddened.
He rushed over angrily and slapped Xu Ningyan across the face.
His hand had barely reached mid-air when Gu Zhiyuan grabbed it and shoved him away, saying, "Let's see who dares to touch her!"
Xu Yinlai's eyes were bloodshot: "You heartless little beast! That's your own brother! How could you do that? I'll beat you to death, you inhuman bastard—"
