Chapter 110 The Guesthouse (2/2)

Lu Rong let Qiao Wanyue help him up, and Wen Bing rushed over, hugged the tombstone, and started crying.

The cries were so moving they shook heaven and earth.

The soldiers, who had just wiped away their tears, were dumbfounded.

Their gazes fell on Qiao Wanyue. From the moment she arrived at the cemetery, her expression had been indifferent, concealing all her emotions. Even at her saddest, she would only wipe away her tears.

Those who remain silent suffer heartache.

The sadder I am, the less I can cry.

Those who cry and wail are often the best at pretending.

The soldiers looked at Wen Bing awkwardly, exchanging disdainful glances.

Wen Bing was so immersed in her emotions that she couldn't pull herself out. She cried with snot and tears streaming down her face, as if she wanted to pour out all her longing. She hugged the tombstone tightly and shouted.

The crying lasted for half an hour.

Lu Rong's face was frozen.

"Wanyue, let's go."

Lu Rong couldn't be bothered to watch her performance; her impression of this comrade was extremely bad.

Wen Bing wiped away her tears and looked at Qiao Wanyue defiantly. Sure enough, she had no feelings for Yun Zhou at all. She was unmoved by the tombstone and her crying sounded like a kitten's meow.

Wen Bing gripped his hand and it made a cracking sound.

Lu Yunzhou is hers!

Mu Fan escorted Lu Rong and Qiao Wanyue to the guesthouse, which was close to the military region, so Mu Fan could arrive promptly if anything happened.

He told Lu Rong and Qiao Wanyue to rest for a while, and that he would take them out for a stroll in the evening to relax.

Mu Fan booked two rooms, the larger one with two beds. Although the place was near the military area, it wasn't actually within it, and he was worried that the two of them might encounter something and not be able to look after each other.

Lu Heng has a room to himself.

Lu Rong and Qiao Wanyue entered the room. Qiao Wanyue asked Lu Rong to take a shower first, as there was no place to change clothes on the train, and the two of them had been wearing the same clothes for three days.

Lu Rong took a bath towel to take a shower, while Qiao Wanyue observed the surrounding environment. There was a tall building across the street, and coincidentally, the window opposite was directly opposite their window. The curtains on the opposite side were drawn, so it was impossible to tell whether there was anyone there.

Qiao Wanyue didn't pay attention. She drew the curtains and, while Lu Rong was taking a shower, went into her space to find a change of clothes. She also filled the kettle with spiritual spring water. The two of them had been traveling a long distance these past few days and had relied on this spiritual spring water to restore their energy.

After Lu Rong finished showering, he urged Qiao Wanyue to go in and take a shower as well.

After taking a shower, the two rested at the guesthouse for half a day.

Lu Rong could only see his son's face when he closed his eyes, while Qiao Wanyue slept for half a day.

That evening, Mu Fan changed into casual clothes, and a man wearing glasses stood beside him.

He introduced, "Auntie, this is Wei Jun, the political commissar of Yunzhou."

Lu Rong nodded. "Hello."

"Auntie, I'm so sorry to meet you like this for the first time."

Lu Rong smiled wryly, "This is something none of us expected, and I don't blame you."

The Wei army was in an even worse situation.

He would rather Lu Rong beat them up than accept this kind of understanding. Ever since Lu Yunzhou's accident, Lu Rong has only mentioned coming to see his son; he hasn't even questioned how his son sacrificed himself.
