The beautiful woman was dressed in a cheongsam, her waist slender and graceful. Every gesture she made exuded elegance. Her eyebrows and eyes bore a resemblance to Liang Xiu's, but hers were more exquisite, as if they had been carefully sculpted by the heavens.
Her face was free of makeup, yet her extraordinary temperament made her seem as if she had stepped out of a painting.
Qiao Wanyue was slightly stunned when she saw the person in front of her.
She and Liang Xiu were clearly worlds apart.
How could they be sisters?
"You're Qiao Wanyue?"
Looking at the person in front of her, Liang Yu felt a strange feeling that she herself had not noticed.
Those eyes and brows look so familiar.
Qiao Wanyue's eyebrows and eyes are somewhat similar to Liang Xiu's, but not quite. Liang Xiu's appearance is rather petite, but Qiao Wanyue's face is small and delicate, and her eyebrows and eyes look as if they were pulled out of spring water.
Her eyes were watery, and her eyebrows looked as if they had been sculpted by nature; they were a unique sight without any special care.
Meeting those eyes, Liang Yu's imposing aura was greatly diminished.
"What are you shouting at the door? Come in." Her tone was somewhat curt.
Qiao Wanyue: "You're my aunt?"
"What, you still need to acknowledge my identity?"
Qiao Wanyue shrugged. "After all, Liang Xiu never told me that she has a younger sister."
Hearing her call her own mother by her name, Liang Yu raised her beautiful eyebrows slightly.
Just as Liang Xiu had said, Qiao Wanyue was indeed a rude and unruly person, and any goodwill they had towards her vanished in an instant.
"Who taught you to call your own mother by her first name?"
Qiao Wanyue tilted her head. "I broke off all ties with her. Didn't she tell you?"
Liang Yu paused.
Sever ties?
She and Liang Xiu had only been corresponding for the past two years. At first, Liang Xiu only inquired about her health. Later, after she pressed him repeatedly, she told him about her recent situation: two sons and two daughters. Both sons were very promising, and her youngest daughter was as beautiful as a flower. They were looking for a husband for her, a military officer from this area, and asked her to take care of him.
Liang Yu naturally agreed, but when it came to her other daughter, Liang Xiu hesitated. After repeated questioning, she learned that this Qiao Wanyue always acted like her mother, bullying her younger sister, beating her older brother, and committing all sorts of evil deeds. When Liang Xiu mentioned her, her letters were filled with helplessness.
"Come on in. Don't be ashamed to be standing outside." Liang Yu glanced at the people around her.
Following Liang Yu inside, we saw a pair of fine vases right at the entrance. They must have just been put up, since in the current situation, it would be a sure way to get punished if a leader used Qing Dynasty porcelain.
Qiao Wanyue knew perfectly well what was going on, but she didn't say anything.
This was a show of force to her.
"Please sit down."
Liang Yu sat down opposite Qiao Wanyue and took a few sips of her coffee.
"I heard you had an accident?" she asked in a condescending tone.
Qiao Wanyue raised an eyebrow. "Heard?"
Was Liang Yu trying to test him?
A hint of unease flashed across Liang Yu's face. "You're alright, so stop pressing the issue. I'll give you some money. Go back and live a good life. Whether you remarry or not, you'll have a peaceful life from now on."
How much?
A hint of mockery flashed in Liang Yu's eyes.
How much do you want?
Liang Yu posed the question to her.
Qiao Wanyue's lips curved into a smile.
Her laughter was too blatant, her eyes filled with a thirst for money.
"One billion."
Snap
Liang Yu lost her grip on the coffee and it spilled all over her, the brown coffee staining her white cheongsam. She hurriedly got up to find a tissue to wipe it off, but the coffee slipped from her hand and fell, spilling all over her skirt.
