Chapter 26 Turning Against Each Other (1/2)

She stared intently at Mr. Qiao, her eyes filled with mockery and determination.

"Is your sister just anyone?" Qiao Sheng wanted to crack open her head to see what was inside. The family kept talking about what was yours and what was mine, and it was all my fault.

Qiao Wanyue said, "Yes, not just Qiao Shanshan." She looked around at everyone, "You all are."

Qiao Sheng frowned deeply.

"Okay, okay."

"How come after raising him for so many years, he turned out to be an ungrateful wretch?"

Qiao Wanyue was not sad. Before she died, she had no more expectations for her parents.

"Ungrateful wretch?" Qiao Wanyue laughed. "I wash all the pots and pans in the house, and all your clothes. Your good son and daughter only cause you trouble and ask for money. You call me an ungrateful wretch? Then what are they?"

"Is it a blood-sucking leech?"

"Qiao Wanyue, how dare you speak like that?"

"Wanyue, apologize to Dad."

"Wanyue, Dad has worked so hard for this, and he'll be hurt if you say that to him."

Qiao Xingwang and his wife tried to smooth things over.

"So what? What does it matter to me whether he's hurt or not?" Qiao Wanyue's eyes were full of sorrow.

Actually, the stab wound she received from Qiao Shanshan and Yang Huaiyuan could have saved her life. If the Qiao family had just taken her to the hospital when they arrived, they could have saved her life. However, Qiao Sheng was afraid of damaging his reputation of several decades and was afraid that Qiao Shanshan would be sentenced again.

Let her bleed to death.

Her last thoughts before she died were about her children, so why were they so different?

Isn't she her biological daughter?

Qiao Wanyue had her suspicions, but lacking evidence, the matter was left unresolved.

There is no greater sorrow than a broken heart.

The familial bonds she had clung to throughout her past life ultimately dealt her a fatal blow when her mother, father, and brother delivered the final blow.

She doesn't hate the Qiao family.

I don't love it.

But I will never forgive.

They owe her, and she'll get it back in this lifetime.

Qiao Sheng was startled.

As he recalled Qiao Wanyue's behavior over the past few days, it didn't match the honest, hardworking eldest daughter he remembered. Could she be possessed by a ghost? He decided to talk to the village elders in the next few days.

What kind of ghost dares to possess Qiao Sheng's daughter?

His tone was icy, “You’re the older sister, how could you watch your younger sister get arrested by the police? Besides, your sister and Yang Huaiyuan were holding hands on the street, how could you report her? How is she supposed to face people after this?”

Qiao Sheng lowered his voice.

"Holding hands?" She looked at Qiao Wanyue with amusement. "Why don't you finish what you were saying when you're tattling?"

Qiao Shanshan twisted her neck, not daring to look at her, her eyes full of guilt. She was filled with resentment. She was just a little open-minded, so what? So many people in later generations kissed in the street, so what?

Qiao Wanyue had no idea what "timely" meant; she only knew how to follow her instincts. "You're just jealous of me, Qiao Wanyue, admit it. Even if you kill me, the Yang family won't look at you. Give up."

"You admitted it, didn't you? You're the one who reported it." Qiao Shanshan seized on the key point.

“Let’s ask Zhou Wenwen, the one who witnessed the whole thing. I’m curious what kind of scene could have scared Zhou Wenwen so much that her face turned pale and her lips were trembling,” Qiao Wanyue said calmly.

Qiao Shanshan's face darkened.

How could she forget about Zhou Wenwen, that troublemaker?

"Qiao Shanshan, is what she said true?"
