"yes"
Back home.
"Second brother, will this cause you any trouble?"
Lu Yunzhou couldn't help but chuckle at her nervous expression. "You've already hit her, and now you're worried about getting into trouble?"
Lu Xingxing scratched his head.
"Isn't it because I couldn't resist?"
Lu Yunzhou: "It's nothing."
"Wanyue, go with Sister Cui in a little while and go see Liu Wang's family."
Qiao Wanyue understood what he meant.
Lu Yunzhou was in charge here, and if he didn't take a stand on this matter, he was afraid Liu Wang would cause trouble later. Since he had already started the fight, he should save face and prevent Liu's wife from causing trouble.
"Okay, I'll bring a few of Panpan's clothes to take a look later."
Before Qiao Wanyue could go look for her, Cui Qian arrived.
Cui Qian was also holding a few pieces of children's clothes. Although they looked like they were for boys, at least they were warm.
"That old hag Liu is a real bastard. It's below zero, and the children only have one layer of cotton clothing. Several children's lips are turning blue from the cold," Cui Qian complained to her.
Qiao Wanyue remained silent.
This matter isn't entirely Liu Wang and Granny Liu's fault.
When they arrived, the Liu family had already gathered many military dependents. Although they didn't like Granny Liu, they still felt sorry for Cuihua, as they both came from humble backgrounds and her mother-in-law wasn't much better off than Granny Liu.
Fortunately, their husbands were sensible and sent money back home every month, refusing to let their mothers-in-law accompany them to the military camp.
"Thank you, sisters-in-law." Cuihua held the child, her body trembling.
"Duoduo, pour some water for the aunties..." Cuihua instructed her eldest daughter.
"Don't move, let's take a look."
Sister-in-law Zhuang, however, pulled her three daughters along and picked out a few clothes that could be worn. Qiao Wanyue brought Panpan's clothes, a few jackets that she didn't wear often, and she pulled Duoduo to wear them.
Duoduo touched the thick cotton-padded coat in a daze, and asked with wide eyes, "Won't I get beaten?"
Sister-in-law Zhuang's eyes reddened.
My fingers involuntarily clenched.
What kind of life is this child living?
“No, these are from your aunties. If she hits you, just go and tell your aunties.” She squatted down and said gently to Duoduo.
Duoduo bit her lip tightly.
She complained to her, and her grandmother beat her half to death. Even her father slapped her when he came home, saying that she was a traitor who didn't care about the family and that if his reputation was ruined, her whole family would have to die.
She didn't dare.
Qiao Wanyue and the others didn't linger. They left their things at the Liu family's house and then left.
After they left, Cuihua and the children hugged each other tightly.
Not long after, Granny Liu returned and saw Cuihua in the living room. She was furious. Cuihua had been beaten to the point of near death, and this woman had actually hidden in the house. Without saying a word, she was about to kick her.
Before she could even get close to her, Cuihua suddenly pushed Liu Pozi away like a grumpy little lion.
Clang
The back of my head hit the cabinet.
Blood was everywhere.
Liu Wang's vision went black, and he pulled out his belt to hit her, but Cuihua seemed like a different person. She fiercely protected her child, picked up a stool from the ground, and smashed it at Liu Wang.
"I want a divorce from you, and I'm going to report you to the military for abusing women," she said, enunciating each word clearly.
Liu Wang stared at her in disbelief, clutching his head. "What did you say?"
