Chapter 49 Yang Huaiyuan Falls into a Cigarette Pit (2/2)

Lu Rong rolled his eyes and couldn't help but vomit again.

Qiao Wanyue silently drank two mouthfuls of spiritual spring water, which suppressed the strange feeling in her stomach a little.

By this time, the backyard was already in an uproar.

Yang Lin was awakened by the noise. He seemed to hear his mother crying. He threw on his clothes and rushed out of the room without even putting on his shoes. He followed the sound to the backyard, completely unaware of the mother and her children in the yard.

A hint of silence flashed across Lu Rong's face.

Qiao Wanyue saw her mother-in-law's silence, reached out and pulled her into her arms. In just a moment, the discomfort in Lu Rong's heart dissipated, and she looked at her daughter-in-law and smiled, "Mom is used to it. Now Mom is looking forward to you joining the army. Mom will go with you then."

Qiao Wanyue pursed her lips. She might have to disappoint Lu Rong. In her heart, she was also hoping that Lu Yunzhou could come back and become the big umbrella for the whole family. But the closer the date got, the more uneasy Qiao Wanyue felt.

"Mom, I will protect you," she said.

Lu Rong didn't think much of it, her eyes full of smiles, "Okay, Mom believes you."

Brother Lu's hands were peeling from washing so much that he lathered them with soap several more times before he stopped.

“Let’s go take a look at the backyard,” Qiao Wanyue suggested.

As they left, they deliberately pulled out some cotton and stuffed it into their nostrils before heading to the backyard.

The backyard was brighter than daytime, illuminated by candles and flashlights.

But things were in complete chaos. Yang Huaiyuan was being held down in the cesspool by Yang Dazhuang, whose eyes were filled with rage. "What did you do to my mother?"

Yang Dazhuang's mother collapsed to the ground, her face pale.

"Xinghua, are you alright?" Lu Rong rushed to Xinghua's side with concern. Xinghua whispered, "Sister Rong, I saw Yang Huaiyuan having an affair, and he wanted to kill me."

Qiao Wanyue twitched her lips.

Aunt Xinghua's thought process is truly extraordinary.

Lu Rong suppressed a smile, but since they had dragged Xinghua into this mess, she helped her up. "No, we're all from the same village. Huaiyuan is usually a good boy. How could he possibly kill you?"

Xinghua shook her head. "I saw it. He told the Bodhisattva that he wanted me dead."

Xinghua bit Yang Huaiyuan to death, wanting her dead.

"You're a lunatic, an idiot! How could my son possibly want you dead? Don't talk nonsense!" Yang's mother rushed over and was about to tear Xinghua apart.

Yang Dazhuang's eyes turned red with anger. "Who are you calling a lunatic, an idiot..." What Yang Dazhuang couldn't stand the most was people calling her mother an idiot or a lunatic.

Hearing Yang's mother's scolding, Xinghua indeed fell silent, her head hanging low.

Suddenly, she became agitated, “I’m going to die! I’m an idiot! I’m insane! I won’t be a burden to Dazhuang! I won’t be a burden to you all!”

She struggled to break free from Lu Rong's embrace and tried to crash into the wall of her house. She used all her strength, and although she was rather small, Lu Rong still couldn't hold onto the crazed Xinghua.

With red eyes, Yang Dazhuang punched his mother in the eye, turning it into a black eye. "If anything happens to my mother, I'll kill you."

Yang Dazhuang went to comfort his mother.

He used all his strength to suppress the apricot blossoms that had fallen ill.

"Mom, no, she's talking nonsense."

Xinghua shook her head, muttering that she was a burden to her family and that Yang Dazhuang was looked down upon by others, and that she wanted to die.

Lu Rong held Xinghua tightly, trying to comfort her, "Xinghua, don't you want to see Dazhuang get married and have children? He's getting married soon, do you want to turn his happy occasion into a tragedy?"

Hearing this will only cause trouble for her son.

Xinghua's excited emotions calmed down instantly, and she let Lu Rong hold her with a blank look in her eyes.
