Chapter 57 First Great Victory (2/2)

Lu Rong's face was full of pride, "Yes, my daughter-in-law."

My daughter-in-law spoke those few words with such force and conviction.

Qiao Wanyue walked quite a distance under the gaze of the older woman and the young wife, still faintly hearing her mother-in-law's proud voice. She didn't know whether to laugh or cry; she finally understood what her mother-in-law meant by telling her to dress up nicely.

Her smile widened; she was willing to satisfy her mother-in-law's vanity.

Uncle Yang was waiting at the village entrance. The Party Secretary had given prior notice, so there was no one on the bus. The villagers waiting to board the bus were to wait for the next one. The Party Secretary was worried that the dried vegetables would be crushed and the state-owned factory would refuse to accept them.

When they arrived in the city, the oxcart stopped right in front of the family compound. Coincidentally, they ran into Aunt Li, who was coming out of town.

Seeing a man in a Zhongshan suit accompanying Qiao Wanyue, she knew that the girl had succeeded.

"Girl, don't come down, go straight to the factory," Aunt Li said directly.

Qiao Wanyue smiled and invited Aunt Li to get in the car. Aunt Li was a little embarrassed, worried that the ox would break under the weight. Uncle Yang knew that this was a benefit for the village, so he waved and said, "Sister, come on in. The ox is intelligent and won't hurt you."

Aunt Li then went upstairs.

At the gate of the state-owned factory, Aunt Li, a minor leader at the grain factory, asked Uncle Yang to park the oxcart at the gate so that they could come in with her. However, Uncle Yang, worried that the dried vegetables would be stolen, voluntarily stayed at the gate.

Aunt Li led Qiao Wanyue and the Party Secretary to the head of the logistics department.

"Brother, I've brought the person to you."

Brother Xu is middle-aged and a bit overweight, with a beer belly, but he looks quite kind.

Qiao Wanyue: "Hello, Uncle Xu."

Aunt Li's maiden name was Xu, and her full name was Xu Xinyue.

Xu Liang is the head of the logistics department, and he and his sister work at the same factory.

Xu Liang looked at the pretty girl in front of him. His sister had told him she was from the countryside. In his mind, rural girls were dark-skinned, spoke in a rustic way, and even their faces were dirty.

But the girl in front of him was even prettier than his niece, which surprised him. "Hello, little girl, are you Qiao Wanyue?"

Xu Liang had been eager to meet Qiao Wanyue, the girl whom his brother-in-law had praised as a talented individual, ever since he learned that Qiao Wanyue had helped her brother-in-law secure the factory.

They're so young!

Qiao Wanyue pointed to the Party Secretary, "Uncle Xu, this is Secretary Guo from Xiahe Village. I am the village's correspondent. We are here on behalf of Xiahe Village to discuss cooperation with you." She took out a handwritten letter from the village head from her small cloth bag.

Xu Liang hadn't expected them to take this test so seriously.

He likes people who are open and honest like that.

"Okay, take me to see the goods." Xu Liang didn't beat around the bush.

Qiao Wanyue nodded and took the lead. Secretary Guo and Xu Liang chatted as they walked. Both were intellectuals and of similar age, so they had a lot to talk about.

The group walked to the door

Uncle Yang opened the bag, and a fresh, fragrant aroma wafted out.

Xu Liang hadn't smelled such a delicious aroma in a long time.

He worked in logistics for a long time, managing the sale of various products in the factory. He could tell just by the taste that these dishes were the best they had chosen.

Xu Liang hadn't even seen the quality of the item, but he already had a plan in mind.
