A ruthless glint flashed in his eyes.
Could it be that Qiao Wanyue has also been reborn?
The idea formed in her mind.
The Lu family members did not follow the expected path; some went mad, others died.
Could it be that all of this is not because of her, but because of Qiao Wanyue?
She immediately dismissed the idea.
If Qiao Wanyue were reborn, she would never have chosen to marry Lu Yunzhou.
She knew Lu Yunzhou would die, so she would do anything to keep Huaiyuan instead of choosing to marry into the Lu family.
In her previous life, Qiao Wanyue was able to be a wealthy wife because of Yang Huaiyuan, and how could she possibly have the ability to save the Lu family?
She cannot be reborn.
Perhaps because her rebirth changed some things, the Lu family benefited from the misfortune.
Remembering how she spent eighteen years in prison in her previous life because of the Lu family, Qiao Shanshan felt a burning hatred.
She will definitely not let the Lu family off the hook.
Qiao Wanyue turned off the light and entered the space.
Another batch of vegetables and fruits ripened in the space, and she packed them all into baskets. Everything in the space was top-quality, far superior to anything she bought in a department store.
Unfortunately, she couldn't sell these things. The Revolutionary Committee was keeping a close watch on things, and she preferred to save her life rather than exchange them for some money.
She has been busy these days and hasn't been able to study in the cabin for a long time.
Opening her textbook, she realized she had forgotten much of what she had learned before. She vaguely remembered that it was the winter of 1977, the first year the college entrance examination was restarted, and there were still two years until the exam. She had to pick up all her textbooks again during those two years.
She reviewed the knowledge she had learned before. Perhaps it was because she had drunk too much spiritual spring water, but she was able to memorize all the knowledge after reading it only once.
Photographic memory.
She opened her junior high school textbooks again. Having experienced the hardships of her previous life, nothing made her happier than studying.
Hours would pass in a flash, and time seemed to stand still in the cabin.
After finishing her studies, she came out of the wooden house and returned to her room. Through the window, she saw a person still clinging to the wall between the Yang and Lu families, the dark figure staring intently at her room.
Who else could it be but Qiao Shanshan?
Not long after, the sound of Zhong Qingqing calling Qiao Shanshan to bring her foot-washing water came from next door again.
Qiao Wanyue's lips curled up slightly; Zhong Qingqing was quite the charmer.
I wonder if Qiao Shanshan is happy with the marriage she stole.
Qiao Wanyue took off her shoes and socks. She had already taken a shower in the space. She lifted the covers and lay on the bed. Her thoughts drifted for a while before she fell asleep.
The next day at dawn
The brigade leader's wife knocked on the door early in the morning, carrying a basin of freshly baked pancakes.
Lu Rong stared at the team leader's wife holding a large white flour pancake for a while before he realized what was happening.
The team leader's wife stuffed the pancakes into her arms and urged Lu Rong to return the basin to her.
She then left without saying anything.
This is to prevent them from going hungry.
Lu Rong looked down at the white flour pancake, her eyes glistening with barely visible tears.
Before long, the villagers brought some things over. They didn't ask any questions, just handed the things to Lu Rong and left without asking anything.
"Mom, what are you doing standing in the yard?"
Lu Rong snapped out of his daze upon hearing Qiao Wanyue's voice, "It's alright, go wash your face and eat."
Qiao Wanyue saw that Lu Rong was carrying a bunch of things, the gate was not yet closed, and there were more than a dozen shoe prints in the yard. She guessed what had happened. Lu Rong didn't say anything, and she didn't ask. She washed her face and went into the main room to eat.
Lu Hui had been waiting patiently for a long time.
He was quieter than usual, and he ate whatever Lu Rong put in his hand.
They're incredibly well-behaved.
Lu Rong's mind wasn't on the food, so he didn't notice Lu Hui's unusual behavior.
After dinner, Lu Hui moved a small stool to the yard, rested his chin on his hands, and looked at Qiao Wanyue.
Qiao Wanyue knew exactly what he was thinking.
"Xiaohui, how about your aunt goes to the village first, and then takes you to the hospital?"
