Chapter 43 Arguing is about driving the other person crazy.

"A fall could be a minor or serious injury, Lin Mo, why don't you hurry up and borrow a car?"

"If someone dies, you can't afford to pay for it even if you sell yourself."

Xu Zhenting took the lead in criticizing Lin Mo, and the villagers actually followed suit and started criticizing him as well.

Lin Mo turned to look at A Jun's parents, who were clearly guilty and didn't dare to lift their heads.

They didn't say anything to clarify the truth.

"Nonsense! What do you mean he's going to die from the fall?! Bullshit!" Lin Mo confronted Wang Yanli's face with full force, spitting as much as he could in her face:

"If something really serious happened to him, his parents wouldn't even be making a fuss yet, and you're already making a scene!"

"What, are you Wang Junjun's biological mother? There are actually people eager to be someone's cheap mother everywhere. How cheap are you? A few cents a pound?"

"Having a relative like you is truly a blessing in disguise."

Wang Yanli was so angry from the verbal abuse that her blood rushed to her head. She never expected that Lin Mo, who would never utter a sound no matter how much she was insulted in the past, would actually talk back to her face:

"How dare you swear at me! Especially at an elder! Who raised such a despicable beast! You did something wrong and won't admit it!"

"Anyone who gets close to you will suffer a great loss! There's absolutely no logic in that!"

"Everyone, listen to this! It's so unreasonable! It's completely unreasonable, and it even insults its elders! Waaah!"

Wang Yanli went around urging the villagers to side with her, and even tried to take the position of reason and push Lin Mo to the side of the unreasonable.

"Reason?" Lin Mo sneered.

"Look at your ugly face with your crooked nose and slanted eyes, you just want to pick a fight, don't you? You're just looking for someone to bully."

"You've been pinched and scratched by the sea cucumber's spines, and now you want to reason with me?"

"If you're being reasonable, just drag Ah Jun out for a walk and let everyone see if he's really going to die!"

"You're too afraid to take me out for a walk. You're just unreasonable and always looking for a fight."

"You think I'll tolerate your attempts to argue with me? That's all you'll ever be. There's no hurdle you can't overcome, only hurdles you can never finish over."

"If you stumble over a hurdle, you'll fall and eventually become paralyzed."

Arguing isn't about convincing the other person, it's about infuriating them. Lin Mo will go all out with his sharp tongue.

Wang Yanli never expected that she would actually provoke such a troublemaker this time.

In the past, when she yelled and cursed, no one dared to talk back, which gradually made her think that she was good at yelling.

After being bombarded with such a barrage of insults, she was so speechless that she couldn't come up with any rebuttal.

Then she turned around, covered her face, and started sobbing, calling him unreasonable, ill-mannered, and a beast.

"Waaaaah, everyone see it! You never get anything good when you run into Lin Mo. He's always trying to get the upper hand verbally. Anyone who gets close to him is going to suffer! Waaaaah!"

"Hmph, crying already? I thought you were something special," Lin Mo continued, his words dripping with venom.

"All you do is complain about is being taken advantage of. How much have you taken advantage of others? You've even stolen the victim's name from them."

"Suffering a loss is a blessing; you're incredibly lucky to have me by your side."

The villagers stared blankly as the two began arguing.

As they continued hurling insults at each other, the scene devolved into Lin Mo's one-sided tirade of abuse.

Xu Zhenting thought Lin Mo would be overwhelmed by the villagers' wrath, so he waited on the sidelines to watch the show.

Unexpectedly, what I saw was Lin Mo arguing with a shrew.

Coming to his senses, he quietly withdrew from the crowd, lest Lin Mo turn her sharp tongue on him later.

Lin Mo, that timid little dog who used to act like a big shot, must have been possessed by a vengeful ghost, because he's changed so much all of a sudden...

Awang and Miao Qingsong didn't dare to show themselves either. After Lin Mo finished cursing, they cautiously approached him from behind and whispered words of comfort:

"Brother Lin, calm down. We can't get those two stolen pheasants back..." They dared not go to Wang Yanli's house to ask for the chickens back; going there would only invite a scolding.

"Let's not stoop to the level of a shrew. Wang Yanli is a notorious shrew in the village. That's all she'll ever be. We brothers will help you out and make it up to you."

After Lin Mo finished venting his anger, he felt incredibly relieved.

The main problem is that even though so much time has passed and Wang Junjun's parents are right there, they haven't said a word.

Expecting them to speak up for justice is a pipe dream; we can only rely on ourselves.

The two chickens were a good example of how to expose a heartless ingrate.

Lin Mo told the two of them to take the bamboo baskets, and then went to find his mother.

My mother was indeed behind me. She heard the commotion outside, but she didn't know what was going on and wasn't interested in gossiping, so she didn't come out to join in.

Still busy with his piecework, hand-husking wheat.

My mother's hands are rough and dark, her fingerprints are worn smooth, and when light and shadow pass by, they even shine through the darkness.

"Didn't the team tell you to take a break? Go home and rest." Lin Mo coaxed his mother to go home in a soft tone.

The old woman didn't even look up, continuing to thresh the wheat:

"It's nothing serious, I'm all better now. You can go back, I'll go back around noon."

No matter how much I pleaded, she wouldn't even lift her head.

Knowing that his mother couldn't stay idle, Lin Mo had no choice but to compromise.

With two little followers by his side, he carried a bamboo basket on his shoulder and headed towards the ridge.

"Brother Lin, what's this bamboo basket for?" Miao Qingsong asked excitedly and curiously.

"Scoop up the fish," Lin Mo said generously.

"It's too cold to go into the water, so we'll just throw bait into this narrow bamboo basket and wait for the fish to swim in on their own."

"We can just pull the rope from the shore."

Upon hearing that there was such a way to catch fish, the two Miao brothers were overjoyed.
