"You know what, now that you mention it, I think they're a good match too." Li Meihua is rather simple-minded; she just wants her daughter to be happy.
Having found common ground, Qiao Haisheng felt this was even more feasible.
"I'll ask them when they get back tomorrow. If it's okay, we'll start making arrangements as soon as possible and get them engaged first. We can let them get married when they're old enough. That way, if our daughter wants to change her mind, we'll have room to maneuver."
He's a father who puts his daughter first in everything...
Li Meihua sat up excitedly. "Well, let's ask them separately when they come back tomorrow. If they're willing, we'll proceed according to the rules. If they don't like each other, then let's pretend this never happened. What do you think?"
"Okay, let's do it this way." Qiao Haisheng breathed a sigh of relief, feeling a bit sleepy. He put the pipe back in its original position and lay back down in bed. "Go to sleep early! You've had a long day."
Thinking about her daughter's marriage, Li Meihua was wide awake. She glanced at her husband, who had fallen asleep almost immediately after lying down, leaving her both amused and exasperated. She couldn't sleep herself. Helpless, she could only lie back in bed, hoping to fall asleep sooner.
...
Cave.
Qiao Xiaoni felt uncomfortable and shifted her body. Realizing something was wrong, she remembered she was in a cave. Opening her eyes, she saw that she was lying on his lap. Seeing his eyes closed, she couldn't tell if he was asleep or not. She gently shifted her body, feeling extremely uncomfortable.
Su Chenhao was slightly moved and immediately opened his eyes. He saw that Qiao Xiaoni had already woken up. She had been pressed down for a while and her legs were numb.
"When did I lie down on your lap? Why didn't you wake me up?" Qiao Xiaoni asked as soon as she saw that he was awake.
Su Chenhao gently shifted his leg. "I wanted you to sleep more comfortably, so I let you rest your head on my lap."
Qiao Xiaoni glanced outside and saw that it was already slightly bright; it was around four o'clock.
"It's dawn, the rain has stopped, we can go back now."
Su Chenhao nodded, supporting himself on the stone as he slowly stood up, and stretched his legs.
"We've recovered a lot of strength, so we can go down the mountain smoothly now."
Qiao Xiaoni pulled his arm over and looked at his wound. "Won't this aggravate your wound?"
Su Chenhao shook his head, "As long as we are careful not to aggravate the wound, we can walk up the main road for another half hour before going downhill. We will be home in no time."
Qiao Xiaoni said, "I think we shouldn't ride our bikes anymore. If something else happens, it would be a loss."
We can just push our bikes slowly and get home by noon. At worst, we'll be careful when we enter the village and make sure no one sees us.
"Okay, we'll do it your way." Su Chenhao readily agreed.
The two quickly packed up, pushed their bicycles, and left the cave, taking the snake with them.
Stepping through the morning dew, they began their journey toward the village.
...
The Qiao family.
After finishing his delicious breakfast, Qiao Xiaoshan noticed that his uncle's face was still dark. He touched his nose and said to the old lady, "Grandma, I'm full. I still have things to do at home! I won't stay any longer."
Qiao Sunshi nodded, "Go back if you want! Please pass on a message to your father: I've discussed it with your grandfather, and going to university is a big deal. Our family needs to make arrangements."
We checked, and the auspicious day is in three days. Go back and ask him; if he agrees, then it's settled. Also, your sister absolutely must come on that day; she can't refuse.
