Chapter 17 Dealing with Fox Pelts 1

Hearing the old lady say this, Qiao Xiaoni was very happy: "Then thank you in advance, Grandma."

Grandma Sun was so happy she couldn't stop smiling: "I'll keep these two vegetable pancakes to take to my grandson."

"Your family is so skillful; you even thought of wrapping vegetables inside fillings to sell."

Qiao Xiaoni: "Life is tough these days, I'm just earning a meager living. All I have left are these baskets to sell." Thinking this, she shouted to the people still around, "Newly woven bamboo baskets for sale! Three yuan each, sturdy and durable, won't break for ten years!"

Qiao Xiaoshan gave his sister a thumbs-up. The vegetable pancakes were sold out, and now they were selling bamboo baskets! Why hadn't he thought of that? His father wove many bamboo baskets at home, usually selling them to villagers for just over a dollar each. These baskets were durable and didn't need replacing for years, so the price had always been low.

But it's different in town. There's a larger population there, so practical items like these should sell better.

Just as this thought crossed my mind, I saw an old lady take out three yuan and hand it to my sister, and the transaction was completed...

He would definitely tell his father about this when he got back. They couldn't sell bamboo baskets cheaply anymore. If business was this good every day, what would be the point of him and his brother working odd jobs? They could just follow their sister into the business... At that moment, his sister had reached a new level in his heart, becoming different from before.

Qiao Xiaoni turned around and saw her brother's eyes filled with admiration. She smiled helplessly. He was already this adoring after only making a few dollars in such a short time. The fact that the original owner had gone to school was a good excuse. If she were a native rural girl who had never even been to town more than a few times, how would she explain these ways of making money to her family?

Everything was sold out. Apart from bicycles, no one had a watch and didn't know what time it was. Qiao Xiaoni saw a middle-aged man with a watch on his wrist, asked him, and learned that it was already ten o'clock.

Qiao Xiaoshan followed his sister around, saying, "Shouldn't we go back now? We've sold everything, what's the point of staying in town? We made so much money, Mom and Dad must be very happy."

Qiao Xiaoni turned around: "Brother, do you want to earn more money in the future?"

Qiao Xiaoshan nodded: "Of course I want to! Look at how much money you've earned all of a month, it's more than half a month's salary for me."

Qiao Xiaoni paused for a moment, surprised that Qiao Xiaoshan's salary for half a month was only a few yuan, which was far from what she had imagined. It seemed that getting rich was an urgent matter. She looked around the market and found someone selling furs at the end of the street. From a distance, she could see rabbit and fox pelts, and next to him, there were some small rabbits in cages, and it seemed there were also two pheasants.

"Brother, let's go take a look over there. Just remember not to say anything out of line."

"Ah! Okay, I understand." Qiao Xiaoshan was completely baffled, not knowing what his sister was up to, and followed behind her on his bicycle.

Qiao Xiaoni hurried to the stall, ignoring the people selling outer furs, but immediately taking a liking to the black fox pelt on the stall. It looked beautiful, and the seller's craftsmanship was excellent; the pelt was peeled off intact. "How much is the fox pelt?" she asked.

"How much is the black fox pelt?" A man's voice came from behind her. It sounded familiar. She turned around and saw that it was the man who had given her the apple yesterday.
