Chapter 2 Cornfield 2

She survived after receiving treatment, but the scar on her forehead remained and accompanied Qiao Xiaoni as she grew up.

Because of this accidental injury, her family felt extremely guilty, and they had given Qiao Xiaoni all the good things she had ever had since she was a child.

Her two older brothers only attended primary school, while Qiao Xiaoni has been in school all her life. She recently took the college entrance examination, but she doesn't know how she did.

Spoiled by her family, Qiao Xiaoni has a very delicate personality and cries whenever she's unhappy, often causing her family a lot of worry.

After spending three days together, Qiao Xiaoni felt the warmth of family. She didn't want to leave this home and planned to continue living as the original owner of the body.

She's been pondering the question of why she was reborn after death. She only remembers saying in the car after attending a friend's engagement party, "God, why can't I have a man?"

Before her rebirth, she was a food presenter, spending her days watching chefs cook and indulging her own culinary desires.

I don't know what her constitution is, but she eats non-stop every day and her body doesn't seem to gain weight.

Young, beautiful, and with a good income, she has many suitors. However, due to a mysterious power, she can see into the thoughts of others.

Those men were either after her beauty or her money. Not one of them genuinely wanted to spend their lives with her. Before she knew it, she had become an older single woman.

Every time her grandmother saw her, she would urge her to get married. In addition, her friends around her were getting married and having children one after another. That day, she drank a little too much and a sense of resentment began to grow in her heart.

Could it be because of her own resentment? Qiao Xiaoni sighed. Her only worry right now was her grandmother.

My grandmother was a good person, but she had a hard life. She became a widow at a young age and adopted me when she was 50. I had planned to repay her kindness, but she passed away, and I can no longer repay that debt of gratitude.

Suddenly, a thought flashed through my mind: if I find my grandmother again, I can continue to repay her kindness.

The more she thought about it, the more excited she became, and her stomach stopped feeling so hungry. Footsteps approached from afar, catching her attention.

The reason they appeared in the cornfield is because their family's corn was stolen. Tender corn is at its best at this time of year, and some people come specifically to steal it.

Therefore, each household would send someone to watch over the cornfield, and she would be responsible for two hours at noon.

Could it be a corn thief?

Qiao Xiaoni picked up the sickle placed to the side and walked out step by step. If it really was a corn thief, she had to strike first and not let the other party gain the upper hand.

As I walked out of the cornfield, I saw the back of a man. He was at least 1.85 meters tall, wearing a blue short-sleeved shirt and black pants. There was a large bundle next to his left foot, and he was looking down at the cornfield next to him.

From behind, she looked very furtive. Qiao Xiaoni gripped her sickle tightly and shouted:

"What are you doing?"

Su Chenhao squinted at the girl in front of him. He hadn't been home for two years, and he didn't expect to see an acquaintance as soon as he returned to the village.

"Xiao Ni".

The man was quite handsome, with striking features, though his skin was a bit dark; he looked like the kind of person who spent most of his time traveling. When Qiao Xiaoni heard him call her by her childhood nickname, she wondered if he was from this village. Without the original owner's memories, she didn't know how to respond and just stared blankly at him.

Su Chenhao didn't pay much attention to the little girl's attitude:

Are you looking at the cornfield?
