Chapter 216 Opening Ceremony 4

night.

When they dragged their exhausted bodies home, it was already dark. Li Meihua went out to greet them when she heard the door open, and seeing how tired they were, she felt heartbroken.

"Why are you back so late? The vegetable pancakes I made are still covered in the pan."

Qiao Dashan parked the car. "I'm all flustered on the first day of business, but I'll be fine in a couple of days."

Qiao Xiaoni put her arm around Li Meihua's shoulder. "Mom, I didn't expect business to be so good. Everything we brought was sold out, not even the pickled vegetables."

Qiao Haisheng walked over from behind and said, "Meihua, you'll see in a couple of days when you come to town with me. You'll see just how popular our little shop is."

Hearing him say that, Li Meihua was even more eager to go to town to help. If it weren't for her young children, she would have loved to go to town with him the next day.

The blood sausages they brought back were heated in a pot, and Li Meihua mixed a large bowl of cold dishes. Everyone sat around the table eating vegetable pancakes, chatting and laughing happily.

Seven days passed in the blink of an eye.

Tao Chunfang can now independently cook meat and fry dough sticks. Although the taste is not quite right, it is already quite good.

That morning, Qiao Xiaoni did nothing but collect money; she wanted to train their teamwork. She calculated that there was still a month until school started, enough time for them to learn.

Tao Chunfang had just finished cooking a pot of noodles when she immediately started cutting meat. She had been busy all morning without a break. She was physically tired, but happy because she was earning more and more money, and her daily turnover had stabilized.

"Sister-in-law, that's about enough meat. We'll keep the rest for ourselves."

Tao Chunfang nodded, cut the meat, and put it on a plate for later use. She had seen more of the world these past few days and was no longer as stingy as before. In the past, she would never have been willing to take so much meat home to eat; it would have made her feel like she had been punished by heaven.

A bicycle bell rang outside. Qiao Xiaoni put down her account book and went out, where she saw Qiao Dashan getting off a new bicycle.

"How much did this car cost? Is the money enough for you?"

Qiao Dashan nodded, "That's enough, there's still ten yuan left!"

In just a few days, his family bought a new bicycle, something he never dared to dream of before.

Su Chenhao had just finished calculating the bill for the customer and came over. "We can only buy one bicycle for now. We'll buy another one in half a month. That will be enough bicycles for us."

Qiao Haisheng put down his pipe. "Just buy a car first. I can't ride a bike. I'll return the village chief's car tomorrow. I borrowed it so many days ago, it should have been returned long ago."

Qiao Dashan parked his bicycle. "Our family has a car now. I'm so happy just thinking about it. We won't have to worry about getting around anymore."

He's really appreciated how convenient it is to ride a bicycle these days.

Qiao Xiaoshan grabbed a handful of peanuts from the table.

"I'm hungry again after just a short while. Make me a bowl of noodles!"

Qiao Haisheng: "You're hungry after only an hour out? What's in your stomach? You ate those fried dough sticks this morning for nothing."

Qiao Xiaoshan's eyes darted away for a moment. "Those fried dough sticks aren't even enough to fill a tooth gap."

In fact, he gave those fried dough sticks to Ma Yulan. He had only had a bowl of tofu pudding that morning. Seeing how difficult her family's situation was, he couldn't bear it, so he tied the fried dough sticks in a paper bag and threw them into her yard.
