Chapter 271 Going to the County Town 4

The driver then walked over and said, "You're too young. He didn't steal anything from you. Just pretend you didn't see anything."

"If he criticizes you in front of so many people, he might go back and find someone to take revenge on you."

Su Chenhao sensed something was amiss in the driver's words, so he pulled him aside to inquire. Only then did he learn that the thieves on the bus were not simple; they committed crimes like this frequently, and the driver could only turn a blind eye.

If they meddle in other people's business, either the person or the car will suffer. If the person gets beaten up, they'll be bedridden for at least half a month. If the car suffers, things get much worse; either the tires will go flat or things will be stolen from the car. Eventually, they'll shut up.

"Thank you for your kindness in telling me about this," Su Chenhao said, feeling a little regretful that he hadn't taken the person to the police station earlier.

The driver waved his hand: "You don't need to thank me. I do this job to support my family. I didn't step forward when the accident happened, so please don't blame me."

Su Chenhao patted him on the shoulder: "The fact that you told me the truth has already helped me a lot."

The driver looked at the man and woman in front of him. They were dressed very simply, but they gave off an unusual vibe, which is why he spoke up.

Su Chenhao and Qiao Xiaoni were the last to get off the bus. The people who got off before them had already gone far away. The area was deserted, and they had to cross the road in front of them to get out of the bus station.

Su Chenhao: "It's been a long time since I've been to the county town. I didn't expect to find such a group of people."

Qiao Xiaoni: "Judging from your tone, there weren't this many thieves here before?"

Su Chenhao nodded: "There weren't many thieves before, but maybe it's because the economy has developed too quickly recently, and some people have become more cunning."

Qiao Xiaoni linked her arm with his and said, "Don't think too much about it. Maybe it's not as scary as the driver said. Would they dare to retaliate against us in broad daylight?"

Su Chenhao laughed: "You're right, maybe we're just overthinking it. But for safety's sake, you must stay with me after we go out. Let's finish things as soon as possible and go back as soon as possible."

Qiao Xiaoni quickly nodded in agreement. She felt that if trouble really came knocking, she would teach these people a lesson.

They walked out of the bus station without incident. Su Chenhao hailed a green taxi, told him the address he wanted to go to, and after discussing the price and finding it reasonable, he opened the door and let Qiao Xiaoni get in.

The taxis at that time were quite basic, with seats only slightly more comfortable than those on buses. Qiao Xiaoni found that the space inside the car was very small, and the two of them could barely sit down.

Su Chenhao opened the car window a little to let the outside wind in.

The car quickly started moving and turned a corner, leaving the bus station.

Su Chenhao's first destination was a place where an old acquaintance lived. He had sold most of the things he had dealt with in the past to this person, and they hadn't seen each other for several years, so he didn't know how he was doing.

Qiao Xiaoni discovered that the small county town was larger than she had imagined. It wasn't exactly bustling with traffic, but it was close enough, with many cars on the road. There were also quite a few buildings on both sides of the street, which looked neither new nor old.

Su Chenhao: "There are several large factories near the county seat, mainly processing machinery and equipment, so the economy here is developing well, much better than in the town."
