Chapter 278 Fighting 1

Seeing that Su Chenhao didn't speak, Zheng Qi knew the deal was really done. Feeling he'd gotten a great deal, he felt a little guilty. He glanced down at himself and saw a pendant on his person, which he'd bought for two hundred yuan—a fairly valuable item. He took it off and walked over to Su Chenhao: "I'm giving this to you as compensation for the difference in price. This set of furniture will definitely fetch a high price after a while."

Su Chenhao didn't stand on ceremony and took the item. He looked down at it and saw that the pendant was shaped like a fox. He thought it was interesting and put it away, planning to give it to Qiao Xiaoni when he got back.

Zheng Qi looked at his empty hands, shook his head, and returned to his original seat, sitting down.

"Where is that set of furniture now? When can it be delivered? Have you found a vehicle? If not, I can provide one to avoid any damage on the way."

Su Chenhao: "We haven't found a car yet. If you can provide one, then we'll use yours."

Zheng Qi gave Zheng Sanshun a few instructions, telling him to go out and make arrangements to get a large truck for tomorrow.

The three of them chatted freely for another hour or so. They finally had to part ways when the clock struck two.

Zheng Qi escorted them all the way out of the wholesale market, and only felt relieved after watching them get into a taxi.

Sitting in a taxi.

Qiao Xiaoni yawned and rested her head on his shoulder: "I didn't expect things to go so smoothly. The furniture sold out in no time."

Su Chenhao put his arm around her shoulder so she could lean against him more comfortably.

"I didn't expect things to go so smoothly, but this delay means I don't have time to buy you clothes."

I think we should come to the county town again tomorrow, specifically to buy you some clothes.

Qiao Xiaoni thought for a moment and said, "There's no rush to buy clothes. We still have some fabric at home. We can take it to a tailor in town and have it made. That'll be new clothes, right?"

"Can't we just buy ready-made clothes instead of making them?" Su Chenhao asked.

Qiao Xiaoni pointed to her head: "I can design clothes and have them make them, I guarantee they'll be better than the clothes you buy outside."

Su Chenhao: "Since you've made up your mind, let's do it your way. If the clothes they make aren't good, we'll go to the trade fair to buy more."

Qiao Xiaoni felt that God had really been kind to her, giving her such a perfect man after she was reborn. She leaned her head against his chest and listened to his heartbeat.

Suddenly, the car braked sharply and lurched violently. Qiao Xiaoni was held tightly in Su Chenhao's arms; otherwise, the inertia would have caused her head to hit the seat in front of her.

Before they could even recover from the shock, the car door was flung open, and a knife was thrust at them. The man said menacingly, "You two, get out of here."

Su Chenhao looked at the knife being extended towards him without the slightest fear. If he weren't worried about Qiao Xiaoni getting hurt, he would have already made his move.

The man with the knife had a scar on his face, running diagonally from his right eye down to his chin. He looked menacing and was no ordinary person.

The driver, seeing several people gathered in front of the car, pleaded with them:

"It's none of my business, just let me go!"

He wondered to himself how these two had offended these thugs. He worried that they might not be able to escape unscathed today. Thinking of his wife and children at home, he felt a chill run down his spine.
