Chapter 3 Su Chenhao

Qiao Xiaoni nodded, regaining her composure: "Yes, did you just come back from outside?"

"Yes, I'll go back to the village to see my younger brother."

Su Chenhao found the little girl's voice very pleasant. This was the first time they had spoken so closely; previously, they had only met briefly and hadn't had much interaction. He only knew that she was from Qiao Family Village and her name was Qiao Xiaoni, but he was quite familiar with her two older brothers.

Qiao Xiaoni felt relieved after talking to the two of them, thinking that they were not very familiar with each other. It would be easier to talk if they were not very familiar with each other.

What were you looking at just now?

"Let me take another look at the land at home. It looks like this year's harvest won't be very good." After Su Chenhao finished speaking, he glanced to the side. His aunt hadn't taken good care of the land at home. It was covered with weeds. Compared to Qiao Xiaoni's land next door, it was like night and day.

His land was full of weeds, while other people's land was completely devoid of weeds. Upon closer inspection, he realized that his land didn't even have ridges; it was clearly planted haphazardly.

Qiao Xiaoni followed his gaze and looked over. She had been wondering why the land next to her was so messy. People in this era valued food above all else. They could neglect their homes, but they had to cultivate their land properly.

The weeds in the field will definitely affect this year's harvest. As far as she knows, every household in the village is counting on the corn in their fields to make a living!

Su Chenhao felt uneasy, and the expression on his face was no longer as natural as before.

"Your land is good; you should have a good harvest this year."

"Mm," Qiao Xiaoni responded without saying anything more.

Su Chenhao was preoccupied and in no mood for idle chatter. He casually picked up his bag from the ground and took out two apples.

"Here, have these two apples."

Qiao Xiaoni's eyes lit up when she saw the bright red apple. She was already very hungry, but now that she saw the apple, she was even hungrier.

"May I take it?"

"Of course." Su Chenhao stretched his hand forward. "I was planning to give it to you anyway."

Qiao Xiaoni reached out and took the apple. When her hand touched the other person's fingers, she thought she could glimpse his thoughts, but she didn't sense anything. This was really strange.

She hasn't even used her mysterious power yet! This is incredible; it's the first time she's encountered something like this.

Su Chenhao saw the little girl stunned again, found her adorable, waved to her and said something.

"I'm going back now, let's talk again when we have time."

Undeterred, Qiao Xiaoni stepped forward and patted his shoulder, but still couldn't detect anything; it wasn't her imagination.

"Is there something you need?" Su Chenhao asked, turning around.

Qiao Xiaoni withdrew her hand: "It's nothing, I just wanted to say thank you."

Su Chenhao nodded slightly: "Don't be so polite with me. If there's nothing else, I'll be going now." After saying that, he turned around, picked up his bag, and left. He needed to get back to Su Family Village as soon as possible to ask his aunt what had happened.

Qiao Xiaoni watched the man walk away, then looked down at the apple in her hand. Why didn't it work on him?

"Xiao Ni, what are you looking at?" Tao Chunfang, her sister-in-law, walked over from a distance, carrying a basket covered with a white cloth on her right arm. It was obvious that she had come to deliver lunch.

The original owner of this body never lifted a finger at home. Even when she was just helping to light the fire, she could still get the bottom of the stove on fire. So the Qiao family didn't need her to do any work; she could just focus on her studies.

Tao Chunfang couldn't stand her sister-in-law at all; she knew from their first meeting that she wasn't someone to be trifled with. So she tried her best to avoid her, but even so, she still suffered some injustice…
