Su Chenhao said solemnly, "Wife! I've been watching you ever since I went in. I didn't even get a good look at what she looks like, so you can't get jealous and blame me for this."
Qiao Xiaoni reached out and pinched his lower back: "That's more like it. From now on, when there are young girls around, you can only look at me, that way they won't be interested in you."
"Okay!" Su Chenhao readily agreed.
Qiao Xiaoni knew when to stop. Training a man isn't something that can be done in a day or two; it has to be done gradually, shaping him into the ideal husband in her heart.
Next, we went to the men's clothing stall and bought a few more men's clothes, spending 102 yuan, which was more than 20 yuan more than before. Although we spent more money, everyone in the family now has clothes, so we've achieved our goal for today.
As Qiao Xiaoni walked out of the trade fair building, she felt hungry. She looked around, wanting to buy something to eat, and just then she saw a sweet potato stall not far ahead.
Su Chenhao noticed she had stopped and followed her gaze, asking, "Are you hungry?"
Qiao Xiaoni nodded: "I'm a little hungry. I saw there are sweet potatoes for sale ahead. Go and buy me a few sweet potatoes to tide me over."
I'll have to wait until I get home to eat.
Su Chenhao put down what he was holding and said, "Then wait for me here. I'll be back after I've finished shopping."
Qiao Xiaoni nodded, watching him jog to the sweet potato stall to buy sweet potatoes. The sun was shining brightly and it was a bit dazzling. There was a big tree next to them. She carried everything under the tree roots and stood there waiting for him to come back.
Su Chenhao returned quickly, carrying a paper bag in his hands, from which wafted the aroma of sweet potatoes.
Su Chenhao took out a sweet potato, broke it open, and handed it to him:
"Eat up! We still have more than half an hour before we get on the bus. It's better to eat here than on the bus."
Qiao Xiaoni didn't stand on ceremony with him and started eating the sweet potato. The two of them were already so familiar with each other that there was no need to pretend.
Seeing how much she enjoyed her food, Su Chenhao felt hungry too, so he took out a sweet potato and started eating it as well.
The two of them stood under the tree roots eating sweet potatoes, thoroughly enjoying themselves.
Happiness is that simple: when you want to do something, that person is willing to accompany you, regardless of what others think.
After finishing the sweet potato, Su Chenhao picked up most of the things, leaving only a bag on the ground.
Qiao Xiaoni easily picked them up: "Do you want some of what you have in your hand?"
Su Chenhao shook his head: "No need, I can take these things."
Qiao Xiaoni was happy to be free. Having a boyfriend was great; she wouldn't have to carry anything herself when she went out anymore.
After a long and winding journey, they finally arrived back at the bus station, just as the bus arrived. They boarded and secured a good seat.
Seeing how much they had bought, the driver couldn't help but say, "You've brought the whole market back with you! You've bought so much stuff!"
Su Chenhao put the things away properly: "I ended up buying too much. Everyone said it was for household use, and I also bought some clothes for my family. All in all, it's not that much stuff."
The driver looked away, thinking to himself that this young couple was no ordinary couple; no one would dare to buy things like this!
Qiao Xiaoni took a sip of soda: "We went to your sister-in-law's stall and bought clothes and pants from her. She gave us a discount of several yuan."
The driver laughed: "That's great! You have no idea how greedy my sister-in-law is. Getting her to give me a discount of a few dollars is already pretty good. But the clothes she sells are really good; she gets them all herself."
