Chapter 312 A Lively Engagement Banquet 2

Tao Chunfang is 26 years old this year, and her youngest sister is just over 17 years old, a year younger than Qiao Xiaoni. The two sisters are quite far apart in age, so it can be said that they don't have much affection for each other.

My younger sister grew up just as she got married, and in the blink of an eye, she's grown into a young woman herself. I know nothing about her personality. The shop is doing so well, and I really don't want my family to get involved, so I haven't told them about it.

Tomorrow is the engagement banquet, and my family will definitely be attending. What if my family brings this up in front of everyone?

"Sister-in-law, what are you thinking about?" Qiao Xiaoni asked. Tao Chunfang was sitting still, which meant she was thinking about something. Was her stomach upset? Qiao Xiaoni looked down at Tao Chunfang's stomach.

"Nizi, there's something I've been meaning to tell you. I don't know if it's too late to tell you now." Tao Chunfang began, "My youngest sister is a year younger than you, and neither of you has ever met her."

My mom asked someone to pass on a message saying she wants me to come help out at the store. What should I do about it?

Qiao Xiaoni instantly understood the crux of the problem. The shop did need someone, but what was the other person's character like? She hadn't met him, so she couldn't make any guarantees. Considering her sister-in-law was pregnant, she spoke tactfully:

“I can’t agree to this without seeing her. You know, our shop is always busy. If she doesn’t work hard and instead causes trouble, then it will be difficult to manage.”

This is already a very tactful way of putting it. If the other party is dishonest, it's not hiring a worker, it's hiring a thief. Some things in family relationships are simply impossible to explain clearly.

Tao Chunfang nodded: "I understand what you're saying. Actually, I'm also worried that my sister won't do a good job. It's just that I can't bring myself to say it out loud because of my pride. Besides, tomorrow is the engagement banquet, and they will definitely send people over."

I'm afraid they'll ask directly when the time comes. You should talk to your parents so they can have a better understanding of the situation.

If I were to say that, I'm afraid they'd have other ideas, thinking I wanted to place my family members in the family.

Before starting the business, my father-in-law had made it clear that my sister-in-law would have the final say on everything in the shop.

Qiao Xiaoni thought that made sense and nodded in agreement.

Tao Chunfang felt relieved and continued with other things.

As darkness fell, Su Chenhao and his group returned from the mountain, bringing back a pheasant and a rabbit. The workers helped them clean them up, and they could be used to cook the next day. Suddenly, all the dishes on the table became main courses.

Dinner was simple: a large pot of soup with tofu, shredded meat, glass noodles, and cabbage. The workers stayed for dinner; even this big pot of soup might not be enough for them.

There was a large pot of rice for everyone to eat. They didn't go inside to eat, but each of them filled a bowl and sat outside to eat, chatting and laughing.

After they finished eating, there was hardly any soup left in the pot. Some people didn't stand on ceremony and filled a bowl to take home, saying they wanted to bring a bowl home for their families.

There was no other way, so I made another half pot for the family. By the time everyone finished eating, it was already past nine o'clock. After a busy day, everyone went home to rest.

As soon as dawn broke, the family got to work, and even the two children got up to help with whatever they could.

Around nine o'clock in the morning, Qiao Tianli arrived with his entire family, attracting everyone's attention with their large entourage. This was probably the first time he had brought so many people to his son's house, and he was filled with many emotions.
