Chapter 429 Gu An Yi 3

It wasn't until he had only the last skewer of meat left in his hand that Gu Anyi remembered he hadn't returned it. Thinking of his seriously ill father in the hospital, tears streamed down his face.

Qiao Xiaoni looked up and inadvertently saw the boy in front of her crying. What was wrong? Could it be that the grilled meat skewers were so delicious that they moved him to tears?

Su Chenhao handed the freshly grilled meat skewers to the last customer. At that moment, he noticed something was amiss, stood up, and walked over to ask.

"What's wrong? Why are you crying?"

"My dad was seriously ill, and I only had five yuan left. Because I was craving something sweet, I spent two yuan to buy meat skewers, and I ate them all."

"I'm so unfilial, I'm not human." Gu Anyi said, then slapped himself several times.

Su Chenhao stopped his hand: "Fighting won't solve the problem. What illness does your father have?"

"I have late-stage liver cancer and have been in the hospital for over a month. I went to my friends to borrow money, but they wouldn't lend me any."

"Why is God so unfair to me?" Gu Anyi squatted on the ground and continued to cry.

Su Chenhao looked at him and thought of himself. Back then, his father left, and his mother fell ill not long after, leaving him to bear the entire burden of life.

At that time, his feelings were not much different from those of the boy, except that he persevered.

"Don't cry, everything will be alright."

Gu Anyi hadn't cried in a long time, and at this moment he just wanted to vent his emotions because he was in so much pain.

Su Chenhao saw someone come to the door and continued to entertain the guests.

Qiao Xiaoni had been paying close attention to the boy's condition; she wondered what kind of suffering he must have endured to cry so miserably.

The last batch of meat skewers sold out quickly. Su Chenhao tidied up his things and asked Qiao Xiaoni to take the lighter items back first. He stayed behind to talk to the boy before going home.

Qiao Xiaoni understood immediately and didn't ask any further questions. She glanced at the time; it was only seven o'clock. The cloth bag hanging on her body was already bulging. She carried the things home.

Su Chenhao sat down next to the boy. His crying wasn't as loud as before; he must have been exhausted from crying.

"There is no hurdle in the world that cannot be overcome. I have been through everything you have been through, so I know what it feels like."

Gu Anyi looked up: "Have you really experienced it?"

Su Chenhao nodded and briefly recounted what had happened to him.

Gu Anyi thought the older brother in front of him was amazing. Compared to him, she was just an immature child.

"Brother, thank you for telling me so much."

“You’re a man, there’s nothing you can’t handle if you just have the courage. Besides, your father wouldn’t want to see you looking so down.”

Gu Anyi wiped away her tears: "Brother, can you teach me how to grill meat skewers? My family has a shop that used to sell grain and oil, but after I got seriously ill, everything was taken away."

Now I want to reopen it. Seeing that your meat skewers are selling very well, I want to learn from you.

I know my request is a bit unreasonable, but you don't have to grant it.

Upon hearing that his family owned a shop, Su Chenhao immediately had an idea: "Where is your shop?"

Gu Anyi: "It's on Huayang Road, about a ten-minute walk from here. The location is pretty good. My family's grain and oil business used to be very successful. My dad was a warm and welcoming person, and we had many regular customers."

Now, because I don't have money to buy more inventory, the business has to stop. The cost of grains and oils is too high; even if I wanted to start again, I wouldn't have the capital.
