The noodles arrived quickly. It was a large bowl of noodles, with a generous portion and three slices of meat on top. It looked delicious.
Qiao Xiaoni was already hungry, so she picked up her chopsticks and started eating. After eating, she thought the taste was okay, but the soup had a slightly fishy smell. It must be because she didn't handle it properly when making the soup this morning.
Su Chenhao placed a large bone on Gu Anyi's plate: "Eat up, don't be shy!"
Gu Anyi looked at the bone in the bowl: "I can skip the rice, but I want to take this bone back to my dad. He loves the braised pork ribs from this restaurant the most."
Su Chenhao: "Just eat what I'm told to eat. After you're done, I'll pack some for you to take back to your father."
"Brother... what should I say?" Gu Anyi asked, tears welling up in his eyes.
"If you're a man, hold back your tears. It's just a hurdle, isn't it? You'll get through it. A real man doesn't easily shed tears," Su Chenhao coldly rebuked.
Gu Anyi wiped his eyes with his hand: "I didn't cry, I just got sand in my eyes."
Su Chenhao didn't expose her any further. He picked out a piece of meat with a lot of bone from the plate, used his chopsticks to remove the meat, and gave it to Qiao Xiaoni.
Qiao Xiaoni took a bite of the meat and thought it wasn't as good as what she made herself. But she was hungry right now, so she didn't care whether it tasted good or not; she just wanted to fill her stomach first. Seeing that there was more and more meat in the bowl, she looked up at Su Chenhao and said, "That's enough. Don't give me any more."
Su Chenhao then stopped picking meat off the bones and started gnawing on the bones in the bowl. This family's bones weren't as good as his wife's; no wonder he didn't like them.
Gu Anyi ate with relish, gnawing on the bones and then his fingers before picking up his chopsticks to eat noodles. He didn't touch the bones on the plate; his father had taught him proper table manners from a young age.
Su Chenhao watched as he ate very politely, the noodles in his bowl disappearing at a rapid pace.
"Is that enough for you? Would you like me to order you another bowl of noodles?"
"That's enough, no need to order any more noodles. Their soup is free. I'll finish my noodles and then get another bowl of soup, then I'll be done." Gu Anyi said, picking up his bowl and preparing to drink the soup.
Su Chenhao said to the waiter in the distance, "Add another bowl of noodles to this table, and hurry up."
The waiter nodded in agreement and turned to go to the kitchen to give instructions.
Gu Anyi swallowed the soup in her mouth: "Brother, I already said I'll be full after one more bowl of soup."
Su Chenhao: "You're at the age where you're growing, so eating more won't hurt. I can afford to treat you to a bowl of noodles."
Gu Anyi was moved to tears again, and became even more convinced that Su Chenhao would be her brother from now on.
Qiao Xiaoni watched from the side, and Su Chenhao had only used a bowl of noodles to move the child to tears. The child looked as if he would repay the favor with his life.
The waiter quickly brought the noodles, and Su Chenhao took out his money to pay. Thinking of the big bone, he said to the waiter, "Give me a big bone with lots of meat. I want to take it to go. The meat must be very tender for the patient."
"Okay!" the waiter replied with a smile, then looked down and calculated the bill: "Nine yuan in total."
Su Chenhao counted out nine yuan and handed it to the waiter.
Soon the packaged pork bones were delivered, and Gu Anyi finished all the noodles, leaving not a drop of soup.
Su Chenhao handed him the packaged bones: "Keep this safe."
Gu Anyi quickly accepted it with both hands: "Thank you, brother!"
Su Chenhao stood up: "No need to be polite with me. Let's find workers and start work as soon as possible this afternoon. The sooner we open, the more money we can make."
