Chapter 449 Girls' Dormitory 1

Qiao Xiaoni glanced at the building behind her; it had five floors and was covered with uniform white curtains. The windows were too small to see clearly inside.

Even though I don't live in the dormitory, it's good to go and see what the living environment is like.

Sun Jie grabbed Zhou Meiling's arm: "I won't go with you. Besides, I can't get in. I'll go to the library to borrow some books."

I'll wait for you downstairs later.

Zhou Meiling found him a bit annoying: "You don't need to wait for me. I'll have lunch with my roommates later and then go back to my room to study."

See you in class tomorrow morning!

Sun Jie felt he had been given the cold shoulder. In just two days, he felt that the relationship between the two of them had gotten out of control. He couldn't push things too hard, so he nodded slightly in agreement and turned to leave.

After he left, Zhou Meiling began to pour out her grievances: "You have no idea how much I regret being with him."

Wasn't Friday the day for paying tuition? His family only prepared half of the tuition for him, and I paid the difference with my own money.

As a result, I didn't have much money left for living expenses, and I was too embarrassed to ask my family for money since I had just left home.

I'll have to be very frugal for the next two weeks. He doesn't seem worried at all, which infuriates me. He's a man, yet he expects me to support him.

Qiao Xiaoni frowned: "So his family's circumstances are that bad. How will you two live in the future? You can't always rely on your efforts alone." Seeing her worried face, she couldn't help but speak up. After a moment's thought, she immediately had an idea. Pointing to the cafeteria, she said, "Look, isn't there a job posting in the cafeteria? You can let him do some odd jobs there, so he can earn some money or meal tickets."

This can ease your burden a bit. If he doesn't want to do it, he can go out and tutor.

As far as I know, it's not a lot of money, but it should be enough to cover one person's living expenses.

“You’re right, how come I didn’t think of these methods? Tomorrow I’ll tell him to go out and get a job, so he can’t keep asking me for money.”

Although my parents said that if I had any financial difficulties, I could call home and they would send me money.

However, I feel that once I enter university, I will be an adult and I cannot add to my family's burden.

Not only does he need to go out to work, but I'm also planning to find a job as soon as possible. Five days of classes a week, and I can work the other two days – every penny counts!

Qiao Xiaoni likes Zhou Meiling's personality and thinks the two can become good friends.

After a long and winding journey, we arrived at the girls' dormitory. Upon entering, we were quite taken aback by the layout of the room.

It wasn't a bunk bed, but rather two beds on each side, with luggage placed under the beds.

There was a table by the window with toiletries and a lunchbox on it.

There was no one in the room. Zhou Meiling sat on the bed covered with pink sheets, which must have been her bed.

"The living conditions here are a bit poor, and I really want to go out and rent a place, but unfortunately my wallet won't allow it."

How's your rental going? Where is it? I'd love to come over sometime!

Qiao Xiaoni didn't sit on the bed, but instead pulled out a stool from under the table and plopped down on it.

"It's just across the main road from the school. I'm quite busy these days, but I'll invite you to my house for dinner in a few days. I'll cook you a couple of nice dishes."
