Chapter 450 Girls' Dormitory 2 (Fu Ru)

"Wow! How much did you pay for the apartment across the street? I heard it's really expensive. It costs tens of dollars a month, which is almost half a month's salary!"

Zhou Meiling was astonished; she hadn't expected their rented apartment to be right across the street. She hadn't asked for more details last time, but now she realized they were truly extraordinary.

Qiao Xiaoni: "Didn't I tell you last time? We negotiated the price, otherwise the house price would have been even higher."

I advise you not to rent a place nearby. Focus your energy on your studies and don't let your schoolwork fall behind.

Zhou Meiling: "Hmm, you're right. I need to study hard. My past grades are in the past."

These days, which of my classmates isn't a top student? I need to work twice as hard and quickly finish reading the books we were given.

The door creaked open, and a girl with long, flowing hair walked in. She was wearing a uniform blue school uniform and glasses. She was fairly pretty, with an oval face—the kind of face that's easy to remember once you've seen her.

Zhou Meiling stood up: "Sister Ru, she is my classmate. I'll take her to the dormitory for a while."

"Mm." Fu Ru responded and sat on her bed, no longer paying attention to their conversation.

Qiao Xiaoni knew she was an older student; the textbook in her hand was enough to prove it—she was two grades ahead of them and should graduate in another year.

The school is acting strangely by assigning new students to older dormitories. Aren't they worried about upperclassmen bullying the new students? I don't know what the principal was thinking.

I chatted with Zhou Meiling for another half hour, and then we stopped talking when it was almost time to eat.

Zhou Meiling picked up her lunchbox: "I'm going to the cafeteria for lunch. How will you get home?"

Qiao Xiaoni stood up and replied, "I'll go home to eat, then I'll go out to run errands. See you in the classroom tomorrow, we'll talk again after class."

“Okay, I’ll go to the cafeteria for lunch first. If I go too late, all the good food will be gone. And I’ll have to avoid that guy. He’s so stingy with his food. If I eat with him, I’ll be eating pickled vegetables every meal.” Zhou Meiling said without any hesitation. They had stayed on the train for several days and were now classmates.

Qiao Xiaoni smiled helplessly; she didn't want to get involved in their relationship problems. She could only offer some pointers from the sidelines, hoping that Zhou Meiling would gradually come to her senses.

They came out of the girls' dormitory and walked along the main road until they parted ways at the fork in the road.

Qiao Xiaoni went to their usual spot to meet Su Chenhao. Instead of going home for dinner, she took a taxi to the store to check on the renovations.

It's mostly finished; only the final, detailed work remains.

The workers were working very hard, so Qiao Xiaoni and Su Chenhao discussed it and decided to take them out for noodles.

This made them extremely happy, and they said they would finish the work even if they stayed late that day.

Their words told me that the meal was worthwhile, and we made our way to the noodle shop we had eaten at last time.

There were quite a few people, so we split into two tables and ordered the same things. Considering they could eat a lot, we also ordered an extra bowl of noodles.

Gu Anyi wasn't as reserved as last time when eating noodles; he ate and drank as he pleased, behaving like he was having a proper meal.

Su Chenhao didn't give him any special treatment, but instead took care of Qiao Xiaoni.

Qiao Xiaoni really didn't like the noodles at this restaurant; they weren't to her liking. She gave the rest of the noodles to Su Chenhao and sat down to drink soda.
