The students were incredulous; what was going on? The teacher suddenly changed his attitude and explained it to them.
After speaking, Jia Yue turned and left without glancing at the student again. She needed to go back and calm down, to quell her resentment first.
After the teacher left, the students went into complete uproar.
They all left their seats and surged towards Qiao Xiaoni.
Seeing this, Qiao Xiaoni quickly stood up and said, "Just like the teacher said, it's a misunderstanding. That's all I can explain. Please don't ask any more questions."
Everyone stopped walking, and soon the bell rang for class. They all went back to their places and did not come back to ask any more questions.
Zhou Meiling's heart finally settled down; no matter what, it was good that Qiao Xiaoni was alright.
Before we knew it, it was time to let out of school in the afternoon.

“Yes, you’re right. She’s just jealous that your English is better than hers,” Zhou Meiling agreed.
"How did your call home go?" Qiao Xiaoni asked casually.
“My mom was sick, so I didn’t tell her. I plan to tell her next week.”
Has Sun Jie not contacted you these past few days?
"No, I feel like he's avoiding me. Who knows what he's thinking?"
"That just means he has something to hide. You don't need to pay attention to him. Just let him stay away from you."
If he comes looking for you, then talk things out with him. From now on, go your separate ways. Aside from being classmates, you two have no further connection.
"Yes!" Zhou Meiling replied, thinking the same thing. Without his interference, her living expenses were enough. She wouldn't have to worry about whether she'd have enough money after spending every penny.
The two parted ways at the crossroads as usual.
Zhou Meiling went back to her dormitory to get her lunchbox. She walked very fast, as she had been delayed today and was getting to the cafeteria a little late.
She figured there would be a long queue, so she planned to get her food quickly and go back to her dorm to study.
As soon as I reached the cafeteria entrance, I saw Sun Jie and a girl queuing up. They were talking to each other every now and then.
The girl's clothes and appearance suggested she was an older student, and she wasn't as pretty as I was.
Sun Jie, with a shameless grin, was saying something that was utterly repulsive. He hadn't even explained himself properly, and he was already hooking up with someone else.
She had truly witnessed what a scumbag he was.
Sun Jie caught sight of Zhou Meiling and quickly turned his head away.
Liu Yanjiao didn't get a reply. Seeing that he had turned his head away, she looked back and happened to see Zhou Meiling.
Knowing their relationship, she touched Sun Jie with her hand.
"Haven't you two explained things clearly yet? I've waited so long, it's time you gave me a straight answer."
