Her hand was being pulled painfully, and Qiao Lingling couldn't break free and was being dragged along. Looking at the many people in the waiting hall, not a single one offered to help. She harbored resentment towards them, silently cursing them to a terrible death!
Once outside, we got into the car smoothly, and the driver started the engine and set off into the night.
"You guys are really unlucky. The train was running yesterday, I don't know what happened during the day," the driver couldn't help but say.
"It's just a coincidence that I ran into you, otherwise I really wouldn't know where to find a car so late at night." Su Chenhao refused the cigarette offered by the driver and sat in the passenger seat.
This way, there will be more space in the back, making it more comfortable for Qiao Xiaoni to sit.
Fortunately, the heavy snow stopped the day before yesterday. There's not a lot of snow on the road, but it's not a little either. As long as you drive slowly, nothing serious should happen.
After driving for more than three hours, we arrived at the next city and asked a passerby for directions to find the nearest guesthouse.
For everyone's safety, we can only set off after daybreak.
Qiao Xiaoni and Qiao Lingling shared a room, while Su Chenhao and the driver slept in the other. They asked the owner for a pot of hot water, bought a few packets of instant noodles, and went back to their room to rest.
Qiao Xiaoni had never stayed in a hotel like this before; this was her first time. The room was fairly clean, with two beds against the wall. Blue curtains hung on the beds, and the room was quite bright with the lights on.
The hotel provided food bowls, but she didn't want to use them. She took out a large bowl from the bag, kept one for herself, and gave the other to Su Chenhao.
Qiao Lingling sat on the bed watching Qiao Xiaoni prepare instant noodles with boiling water. Soon, the aroma of the noodles wafted out. On the table sat a lone bag of noodles and two faded blue bowls.
Qiao Xiaoni quickly started eating as soon as her instant noodles were ready. She hadn't eaten dinner and was starving. She decided to eat first, thankfully she had some soy-braised eggs she brought from home.
Her stomach started growling, and Qiao Lingling couldn't resist any longer. She got out of bed, put on her shoes, picked up the kettle, and started making instant noodles.
She's been eating a lot of instant noodles lately. She's been enjoying good food and drinks at the shop these past few days, and then suddenly she's eating instant noodles again. Just looking at noodles makes her lose her appetite; she's so hungry, what else can she eat?
As Qiao Xiaoni put the last egg into the bowl, she said, "Couldn't you leave one for me?"
"I've already treated you to instant noodles, so what are you nagging about? Hurry up and eat your noodles and get some rest. We have to leave as soon as it's light." After saying that, Qiao Xiaoni continued to eat her noodles with her head down. She had long since given up on being kind to someone like that.
Qiao Lingling could only wait for the noodles to be ready. She ate the noodles in her bowl, which tasted quite delicious. She ate two bags of noodles before she was full.
After finishing her noodles, Qiao Xiaoni tidied up a bit and then went back to bed. Sleeping was out of the question; she could only manage to close her eyes and rest for a short while.
After finishing her meal, Qiao Lingling didn't clear the table. She went to bed and got into bed, knowing that Qiao Xiaoni wasn't asleep. She didn't dare get out of bed to get dressed and run away.
There were no other houses around, only this guesthouse. Running away now would be tantamount to suicide. The only option was to plan for another chance to escape.
Qiao Xiaoni was half asleep when she heard a knock on the door. She rubbed her eyes, looked at her watch, and saw that it was already five in the morning.
"Xiao Ni, are you up yet?" Su Chenhao's voice came from outside.
While tying her hair up with a hair tie, Qiao Xiaoni replied, "I'm up, I'll go out right away, you go downstairs first to check out."
