Chapter 58 The Secret of the Su Family 1

Su Chenhao laughed, "Why would I be angry? We already had a falling out with my second aunt yesterday, so you're right not to have dinner at her house today."

"Look what delicious food I brought back for you, you'll never guess!" After saying that, he took the basket off the cart, opened the lid, and a fragrant aroma of meat wafted out.

Despite the hot weather, the pork trotters didn't cool down; the surface was still warm.

"A pig's leg!" Su Chenqiu exclaimed in surprise. He hadn't seen such a large piece of meat in a long time.

I vaguely remember the last time I ate meat was during the Chinese New Year. My brother came back and asked me if I wanted to eat meat. I said I didn't. But actually, I didn't not want to eat meat; I was just afraid of spending money.

"Yes, it's a pork leg that's only been cooked for a short time, isn't that amazing?"

Su Chenqiu didn't bother to speak, he tore off a piece, put it in his mouth, chewed a few times, swallowed it, and said...

"Brother, where did you buy this? It smells amazing."

"The pork leg was a gift from someone, and I had it cooked at their house. How is it? Doesn't it taste good?"

"It's not just good, it's incredibly delicious. I've never eaten such delicious meat in my entire life. It's so flavorful inside, unlike any other pork leg I've ever had."

Su Chenhao reached out and patted his younger brother's head. "Come on, let's go back and eat pork leg. I haven't eaten yet! Let's have a big feast tonight."

"Okay!" Su Chenqiu quickly replied.

The two brothers went back into the house one after the other. The moon hid behind the clouds, and everything seemed so peaceful.

With a loud bang.

A glass fell to the ground and shattered.

Su Ming covered his mouth with his hand; he had accidentally revealed a family secret. Su Chenhao's father, Su Jin, wasn't his biological brother; his son was an adopted child.

Ding Guizhi put her hands on her hips, ignoring the shards of glass on the ground, and said, "Explain yourself clearly. He's not your older brother. Why didn't you tell me sooner? What's the point of keeping this from me for so many years?"

“I…” Su Ming slapped his thigh. “I shouldn’t have drunk this wine today. How could I have said that? The person is already dead. This matter is meaningless now.”

Ding Guizhi raised her voice, "How is it meaningless? The house wasn't left to him by the old man. He was the eldest son in the family, so the house was given to his family."

Su Ming stepped forward and covered Ding Gui's mouth, "Keep your voice down, don't wake up the eldest and second eldest. We can't let anyone else know about this."

Ding Guizhi forcefully pushed his hand away, "What do you mean you can't let outsiders know? They're not even members of the Su family, so why are they living in the main house?"

That yard is much bigger than ours. If I had known this earlier, I would have taken the house back long ago.

"What are you thinking? The land belongs to the Su family, but the house was renovated later, wasn't it? What does that have to do with us?" Su Jin said angrily. "Besides, he's dead now. Who are you going to ask for the house from?"

Ding Guizhi rolled her eyes and said, "Do you think if we tell everyone about this now, we can get the house back?"

The house is neither new nor old; it's perfect for the eldest son to get married! That way, we'll save on rent, and the money left over can be used for the second son's wedding.

"Are you crazy?" Su Ming roared.

"I'm not crazy." Ding Guizhi pushed him in the chest, almost knocking him to the ground. Thinking of the humiliation she suffered yesterday, she said, "Those two kids are ungrateful wretches. It's no use being nice to them. We might as well take this opportunity to get some benefits back."
