Qiao Xiaoni wiped her hands with her apron: "How can that be? You're all old and frail. If anyone's going to sleep, it should be us sleeping on the floor, and you sleeping in the room."
Li Meihua couldn't let her daughter and son-in-law sleep on the floor; she just wanted to save some money. Besides, she wasn't used to living outside, and this was at least her daughter's place.
"Then Dad and I will stay in the guesthouse! Let's not argue anymore, we can just wait a few days and find a place to rent."
Qiao Xiaoni took out a few more eggs from the cupboard, cracked them, put them in the pot, and then stirred them a few times with chopsticks.
"Mom, you can tell me anything. It's just like home here."

Li Meihua lightly slapped his chest: "You better behave yourself, or I'll see how I deal with you."
Qiao Haisheng laughed and put his arm around his shoulder to sit down on a chair next to him.
Su Chenhao opened the door and came in, putting his things on the floor. He smiled at them and said, "The house issue is settled. I ran into Aunt Zhou, who lives upstairs, on my way back."
She told me that someone was renting a room in the building next door. So I went to ask and then looked at the room. Although it was on the first floor, it was fully furnished.
The furniture is a bit old, but it looks nice.
"You found a house so quickly?" Li Meihua exclaimed and stood up.
Qiao Xiaoni came out of the kitchen: "How much is it per month? We need to rent for at least three months, can they afford that?"
Su Chenhao: "They said they could rent for six months, but the rent would be ten yuan more expensive than our place. However, that place has three rooms, one more than ours. So it's still more suitable for us because we have more people and it's easier to arrange the rooms."
Qiao Xiaoni thought this house was quite suitable. She had originally planned to rent a small courtyard house, but considering the weather here, and with her parents getting old and her sister-in-law having difficulty moving around, it would be better for them to live in an apartment building. At least they wouldn't have to go outside to use the toilet, and there would be heating.
“Then I’ll go with you to take a look. If there are no problems, we’ll rent this house.”
Li Meihua quickly stood up: "I'll go with you."
"I'll go too," Qiao Haisheng agreed, then hurriedly put on his cotton-padded coat.
