Chapter 613 Escape 2

She cautiously approached the door and found the living room empty. Enduring the excruciating pain, she opened the door and went outside.

Just as he was about to reach the door, he suddenly remembered the money Wang Qin had just received.

As was her habit, she would secretly hide the money in an earthenware jar in the kitchen. She'd seen it several times already. Thinking this, she quietly went to the kitchen and found the jar at the very back of the cupboard.

Sure enough, she found the money when she opened it, and quickly took it out and put it in her pocket. Just as she was feeling happy, she heard footsteps outside and had nowhere to hide.

She could only watch helplessly as someone appeared before her; it was none other than her beloved younger brother.

Qiao Dongdong was hungry and went out to find something to eat. He was shocked to find Qiao Lingling in the kitchen.

How did you get out?

Qiao Lingling looked at her younger brother, who was now burdened with both old and new grudges. She already felt guilty for losing a hand. But no amount of guilt could compare to what had happened to her.

She turned around, picked up the cleaver from the cutting board, and slashed at him.

When Qiao Dongdong realized what was happening, he tried to dodge to the side, but he didn't manage to dodge in time and was stabbed in the shoulder, causing him to let out a heart-wrenching scream of pain.

"ah!"

In her panic, Qiao Lingling dropped the vegetables she was holding. She was terrified that they would come out and she wouldn't be able to escape. She ran out of the kitchen in one breath, and when she saw that they had indeed opened the door and come out, she paused for only a second before rushing to the front door, opening it quickly, and leaving without looking back.

Wang Qin was the first to react. She ran to the kitchen and saw her son lying in a pool of blood. She was so frightened that she forgot everything else.

"Son, what's wrong?"

Qiao Haixing then ran to the door and saw the scene as well.

"What happened?"

"She slashed my shoulder with a kitchen knife." Qiao Dongdong said through gritted teeth, blood gushing from his shoulder. What bad luck had he gotten?

Why are they all trying to cut him with knives!

Qiao Haixing then realized what was happening and quickly went out to find a towel to bandage the wound.

The middle-aged man also came out at this moment, and was so frightened by the scene before him that he didn't know what to say.

As Wang Qin helped her son out of the kitchen, she said to the still-dazed man, "What are you still standing there for? Your wife has run away. If you don't chase after her now, she'll be gone."

The man nodded hurriedly, then rushed out the gate in one breath, searching for something, and chased after it towards the main road.

Qiao Lingling chose to escape via a side road, hoping to take a gamble. She ran for almost half an hour and had already reached the edge of town.

Instead of going to the train or bus station, she chose to go to the roadside. She planned to wait until dawn to take a truck and leave the town.

Just as she was still in shock, a truck drove up in the distance, and she waved her hand vigorously.

The truck stopped in front of her, and she ran to the window.

"Are you out of your mind?" the driver yelled at the girl in front of him as he opened the window.

"Save me...please..." Qiao Lingling didn't have time to consider that the man in front of her might not be a good person. She just wanted to leave the town as soon as possible and didn't want to be caught.

The driver looked the passenger up and down, opened the car door, and quickly closed it after the passenger got in.

Judging from the girl's young age, she must have run away because something happened. Thinking that his older brother wasn't married yet, it would be perfect to bring her back as a wife; that way, he could save on dowry money.
