"I understand. I'll go to bed a little later tonight, after your older brother comes back." Li Meihua's face was full of smiles. Her daughter was successful, helping her eldest son with his business. The family's life would only get better and better in the future.
Qiao Xiaoni: "No need. The barbecue restaurant is a business that's been running for a while. I come back this late almost every day. If you wait every day, your body won't be able to handle it."
“Mom, just listen to Xiaoni’er!” Tao Chunfang interjected.
Li Meihua nodded: "Then I'll listen to you two and not wait for you tonight."
Tao Chunfang couldn't help but yawn: "I'm getting sleepy again, I'm going back to sleep for a while."
Li Meihua: "Then let's pack our things and go home. Xiao Ni needs to rest too."
"Okay, I'll go and call the two children out so they can come back with us." Tao Chunfang responded and turned to go to the next room to call them.
Soon the three of them came out of the house, each wearing a cotton-padded coat.
She saw them to the door and then closed it again. Qiao Xiaoni finally breathed a sigh of relief. She had taken the day off to rest, but seeing them so busy, she felt embarrassed to go back to her room to rest, and before she knew it, she was still so busy.
I stretched and went back to my room, lay down on the bed, covered myself with the blanket, and fell asleep. At that moment, I didn't want to care about anything.
She was drawn in by the aroma of meat when she woke up again, and opened her eyes. The dim light reminded her that she had slept until late at night again.
I rubbed my eyes, sat up, and looked at my watch. It was already 12 o'clock. I threw off the covers, got out of bed, put on my shoes, opened the door, and went to the living room.
Seeing Su Chenhao busy in the kitchen, and smelling the aroma coming from there, she went over to take a look and found that there was a pot of braised pork hock stewing in it. No wonder it smelled so good.
"When did you get back?" Qiao Xiaoni wrapped her arms around his lower back, smelling the faint scent of sweat on his body.
Su Chenhao put the lid on the pot: "I just got back less than half an hour ago. I heated up the pork knuckle I brought back. I made four in total today. All the big ones sold out. I brought this small one back for you to eat."
Qiao Xiaoni let go of the plate on the stove, took an apple, and started eating: "After you left this afternoon, my sister-in-law and I went home with the kids. I slept until now. To be precise, I only got up because I smelled the aroma, otherwise I probably would have slept until morning."
"The barbecue restaurant was packed with customers today since it reopened, and I couldn't get away early. Before I knew it, it was already 10 o'clock. Then I told the customers that I had to close early today, otherwise I didn't know when I would be back!"
Qiao Xiaoni swallowed the apple in her mouth: "Did you sell out of the things I brought over this afternoon?"
Su Chenhao turned off the gas stove, used chopsticks to take the pork knuckle out of the stove, and put it on a plate to cool.
"It's ready to eat once it's cooled down. The braised pork knuckle tastes good today; I've already tried it at the restaurant."
Everything I brought sold out; customers were scrambling to buy it.
Qiao Xiaoni felt so hungry she could eat a whole cow, so she picked up her chopsticks and started eating the lean meat.
Afraid of burning her, Su Chenhao snatched the chopsticks away and then cut the pork knuckle in half to let it cool.
"Wait a little longer, the pork knuckle is very hot right out of the pot, what if you burn your tongue?"
Qiao Xiaoni held his hand and touched her stomach: "But I'm so hungry, I feel like I could eat a whole cow."
"I can't do anything with you, so I'll blow on it to cool it down before feeding you." Su Chenhao found a bowl, put the meat in it, then used chopsticks to pick it into small pieces, blew on it to make sure it wasn't too hot before putting it into her mouth.
