Chapter 63 Business is Booming 3

Tao Chunfang was filled with enthusiasm as she thought about the good days to come.

"Then I'll listen to you. Manli is so lucky to have you as her aunt."

Qiao Xiaoni saw sincerity in her eyes. The relationship between people is simply a matter of mutual kindness; if you treat me well, I'll treat you well in return, and everything will be fine. Even if Tao Chunfang hadn't changed, she would still have been kind to Manli. Adult matters are adult matters and have nothing to do with children; this was her principle.

Li Meihua returned from outside carrying a basket, smiling at them and saying,

"Today's vegetables aren't from our backyard; Old Wang gave them to us like this. He was also picking vegetables at the time; he got up earlier than me."

Seeing that I was in a hurry, she gave me the vegetables she had picked and told me to go pick vegetables from our garden.

She told me it wasn't necessary, but then pulled me aside and said that the food last night was delicious, and that I should remember her family next time something good happened. Her face was beaming with pride; her daughter's cooking was a great success, and not only her family but also the neighbors loved it.

Qiao Xiaoni thought about the limited vegetables in her backyard and suddenly realized that it wasn't so easy for others to steal her business. After all, not every household had fresh vegetables, and vegetable greenhouses weren't very common at that time. Even if they had vegetables, they would send them to big cities. It was rare for people to send vegetables to sell in remote towns like this. Her eyes darted around.

"Mom, if we plant bok choy now, can we still harvest another crop in winter?"

Li Meihua: "Almost there. You reminded me. I'll go to town today to buy some seeds. Once the land is cleared out, I'll sow the seeds. As long as the weather doesn't get too cold too soon, I can harvest a batch of vegetables."

“Mom, we’re not afraid of the cold weather. We can cover the cabbages with plastic sheds and they’ll still grow big.” Tao Chunfang said with a smile, “I was chatting with someone the other day and they told me that they used this method and harvested a batch of bok choy in the winter.”

Li Meihua said, "They use plastic to cover it up. This person is quite clever. We'll do the same thing this winter."

Just as Qiao Xiaoni was about to speak, she heard a bicycle bell outside. She guessed that Su Chenhao had arrived, and sure enough, she soon heard him talking to his older brother.

"Mom, hurry up and wash the vegetables. We seem to be in a bit of a rush today, so we need to get to work quickly."

"I know, I'll get started right away. Go and mix the dough, let's hurry up."

“Okay!” Qiao Xiaoni agreed and started looking for a bowl to knead the dough.

Su Chenhao didn't go into the kitchen; instead, he busied himself outside. He had only finished half of yesterday's work when it got too dark to continue.

With Qiao Xiaoshan and Qiao Dashan helping out, their progress accelerated considerably, and they were almost finished assembling the equipment.

Seeing the three children busy at work, Qiao Haisheng went inside and brought out a pot of tea, poured it for them, and left it to cool without disturbing them.

The family was busy at work, and soon the vegetable pancakes were ready. They were then put into a basket and placed there.

Looking at the exquisite basket, Qiao Xiaoni had to admit that Qiao Haisheng was very skillful; he had actually woven the basket she had imagined, and the contents fit perfectly inside.

The pig's head meat and bones had some broth, so I decided to put them in a basin and then in a basket. I had two kitchen knives at home, so I chose the sharper one and put it in the basket.

Li Meihua exclaimed, "Do you really need a kitchen knife to sell things?!"

Qiao Xiaoni poured the prepared garlic sauce into a jar. "I can use a cleaver to cut the meat, otherwise how can I sell it? I can't exactly tear it by hand, can I? Would anyone still buy it then?"
