Dinner was served shortly afterward. There were two meat dishes, three vegetable dishes, and a soup on the table. They all looked delicious, but I wondered how they tasted.
Zhou Meiling was very proper and didn't start eating until they told her to.
Zhao Susu was unhappy that her husband hadn't come downstairs yet, so she went upstairs to call him.
Song Mingyuan used his chopsticks to place two pieces of braised pork into Zhou Meiling's bowl: "Don't worry about them, you should try my mom's braised pork. The pork she bought is seven-layered pork, which is hard to find, so we rarely make it at home."
We're lucky we made it today, you absolutely must try it.
Zhou Meiling was a little hungry, so she casually picked up a piece with her chopsticks, chewed it once, and her eyes lit up. The cooking was truly superb. She swallowed it and ate another piece, feeling an overwhelming sense of happiness.
"The meat is so delicious!"
"Hmm, I told you it's delicious, right? I'll get you a few more pieces." She said, reaching for her chopsticks to pick up some meat.
Zhou Meiling reached out to stop them: "There's only so little meat, don't let me eat it all. Let them come down first."
"Okay." Song Mingyuan readily agreed, putting the chopsticks back in their place.
Just as Zhou Meiling was about to put down her chopsticks, she heard her aunt say, "Oh dear, what a lack of manners! You're eating before the elders have even finished eating."
"Wanwan, the children have been waiting for ages and are starving. It's normal for them to eat first. Don't say that," Zhao Susu retorted with a displeased expression.
Song Aiguo quickly pulled his wife aside, telling her to stop talking.
Zhao Susu stopped talking and quickly went downstairs to invite her daughter-in-law to dinner.
Song Wanwan: "Big brother, I'm not trying to criticize you, but look how spoiled you've become with your wife and son! In foreign countries, men have to listen to the women and children in their families."
Anyone who disobeys will be kicked out of the house.
Song Aiguo was displeased; the smile vanished from his face, and his sister spoke softly, barely audible to him. What kind of thinking was this? What kind of logic was this?
"This is our home, not your foreign country. I don't want to hear your grand theories, and don't tell me them."
"If you want to stay here, then stay here properly. Don't throw tantrums and act like a spoiled child." After saying the last sentence, Song Aiguo quickly went downstairs, not wanting to listen to his sister's nonsense anymore.
Song Wanwan was furious. Why didn't her older brother love her as much as before after he got married?
She felt resentful, believing that her sister-in-law had taken everything away from her. She thought that if it weren't for her, everything would be fine. She wouldn't have gone abroad out of jealousy, and after wandering for so long, she still hadn't met anyone who truly loved her.
Before I knew it, I realized I was getting old, and all the good men around me were gone, leaving only a bunch of ugly, lecherous bastards.
She actually wanted to settle down back in China this time. Unfortunately, they only saw her as visiting relatives, and no one tried to persuade her to stay.
She wanted to stay in such a big house, but she had no reason to.
Song Aiguo and Zhao Susu came downstairs and sat in their usual seats.
Song Wanwan went downstairs and saw the family sitting together happily, while she, as an outsider, could only sit in the corner.
When you're unhappy, your expression will also turn sour.
Zhao Susu used serving chopsticks to put a lot of meat into her daughter-in-law's bowl: "If you like it, Auntie will cook it for you again next time you come. Although this meat is not easy to buy, we can still find a way to get it. As long as you like it, that's fine."
