Chapter 687 Large Orders

The workshop received a large number of orders within just three days of opening, and had no choice but to hire several more female workers.

The barbecue restaurant is now run by Qiao Dashan and Gao Jing, with Qiao Haisheng and Li Meihua assisting.

Although it was a bit chaotic, I managed to handle it.

Su Chenhao and Gu Anyi stayed at the workshop, partly to verify orders and partly to monitor hygiene.

Workers must wear special work clothes and masks every day, and are not allowed to talk. They are busy with their own work, and those who violate the rules will be fined.

We get off work from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break each day. Meals are delivered from a nearby restaurant: one meat dish, one vegetable dish, and a soup. Staple foods are unlimited.

At first, they weren't used to not talking, but after three days, the female workers had gotten used to it.

The main reason is that they pay high wages, 80 yuan a month, and the work isn't too strenuous. Such jobs are hard to find even with a lantern.

That day, Qiao Xiaoni finished her exams and took the bus to the workshop. When she got off the bus, she checked the time and it was just four o'clock.

After taking exams for two consecutive days, she felt exhausted and inexplicably tired. If she had answered all the questions correctly, it wouldn't have required much mental effort.

The problem was that she had calculated the answers before handing in her paper. While getting the top score in the whole year was excellent, it was too flashy. She felt it was better to be honest and conscientious, so she deliberately got two questions wrong on each test.

There was a security guard on duty at the entrance. He immediately let her in after seeing that it was her, without asking her to register.

Qiao Xiaoni didn't go in directly, but turned back to look at the register. The records were quite detailed. Even the female workers' outings were recorded.

"Well done, keep it in this standard from now on."

"No problem, boss, I'll definitely do my job well," the gatekeeper readily agreed.

I put the things on the table, turned around and left. The old man had beautiful handwriting; he must have been well-educated.

As the old saying goes, "An old man is always your old man."

Upon entering the courtyard, she first went to check out the factory building, but instead of going through the main gate, she stood under the window.

Seeing them busy without saying a word, just doing their own things, and wearing their masks tightly, I felt relieved.

The current sanitary conditions are only good enough for this. Fortunately, the weather is quite cold now, so if the materials are not used up on the same day, they can still be used the next day, and there won't be any serious losses.

After observing the workers, he turned and went directly into the office. He saw Su Chenhao sitting at his desk, head down, holding a pen and writing something.

Gu Anyi held some documents in his hand and occasionally said a few words.

Su Chenhao sensed someone coming in, looked up slightly, and saw that it was his wife. He put down the pen in his hand.

"Why didn't you call me before you came? I would have picked you up."

"It's not like I don't know the way. I just took a car and came straight here. How's your work going? Have you finished your work for today?" Qiao Xiaoni looked around and then sat down on the sofa against the wall.

The office was specially furnished with a few pieces of furniture so that it wouldn't look too shabby if someone came to discuss business.

Su Chenhao gave Gu Anyi a few instructions, and after he left, he walked over and sat down next to Qiao Xiaoni.

"Well, I'm pretty much done with my work. But if I weren't, there would be a lot more to do. I've had a lot of orders lately, and I need to schedule shipments."

For orders from distant locations, we'll try to ship as early as possible; for orders from nearby locations, we can postpone the shipment.
