Chapter 727 Little New Year 2

That's life; one door closes, and another opens.

After discovering they could earn so much money, they abandoned their plans to return to the village. They decided to work hard and live a good life in the big city.

Having been controlled by my parents for over a decade, I've come to realize how liberating it is to be unrestrained!

Li Mi used firewood to start a fire, and placed an iron pot on top of it by surrounding it with stones on the ground. The simple stove was very useful.

"I plan to earn money for a few more months, then we'll rent a place and bring the kids back to live with us."

"What do you think?" She stirred the fire with firewood, and when she didn't hear a reply, she turned around and looked back.

Sun Bo sat on the wooden plank bed: "How are we going to explain this to our parents?"

“Xiao Bo, we’ve worked at home for over ten years. We’ve done our part, even if we haven’t achieved anything great. But what do you and I have besides the children? Can’t you see that? Our parents are too biased. Even without Sun Jie, they would still be biased towards others. It’s better to break free from their control.”

“Yes, you’re right. We have to live for ourselves and for our children.” After these days of trials, Sun Bo’s mind has become sharper, and his ideas are no longer so outdated.

"Your brother has been convicted of intentional assault and will be in jail for three years. When he gets out, he'll be ruined."

"Don't tell him how much money we make here when you see him."

"Okay, I'll listen to you." When Sun Bo was younger, he earned work points in the production team. When he grew up, he went out to do manual labor, but he didn't spend much of the money he earned. Instead, he developed many illnesses. If he didn't regain his senses, he would become completely stupid.

...

Workshop office.

Qiao Xiaoni is currently discussing holiday arrangements with several workers. Another batch of orders came in before the New Year, and they might be able to finish them by working overtime.

"That's the situation. Go back and ask around to see who's willing to work during the Spring Festival, earning three times the usual wage. I've calculated the schedule: they'll work on the first, second, and third days of the Lunar New Year, and can take a break around the fourth day."

We normally resume work on the eighth day of the Lunar New Year, which means we can rest for a few more days.

After thinking for a moment, Yao Lihua said, "I'm willing to stay and work overtime. I can handle the packaging line by myself."

The other three or four people discussed it and all said they could stay and work overtime, and they would also pass on the overtime requirement to the others.

The overtime work during the Chinese New Year holiday was finally over, and after they left, Qiao Xiaoni stretched vigorously. It was already 10 a.m. They would be back soon.

Today is the Little New Year, and we're distributing New Year's gifts to the workers: 2 jin of pork belly, 10 jin of rice, a box of apples, and 5 jin of soybean oil to each person.

The sound of a car stopping could be heard outside; they must be back. I put on my cotton coat and went outside.

A large truck was parked in the middle of the yard, and things were unloaded from it and quickly piled up into a huge heap.

The workers heard the commotion; they'd heard before that they'd be getting gifts for the New Year. Seeing so much stuff, they were all secretly wondering how much they'd be getting.

After paying the driver, Su Chenhao directed the truck to leave the yard.

Gu Anyi wiped the sweat from his brow with his sleeve: "We didn't have that much pork belly, so we bought some carp at the market. One carp is about right, weighing about 5 jin. We can let everyone choose whether they want fish or pork for the New Year."

"Hmm, that's good. Let them have the decision-making power." Qiao Xiaoni glanced at her watch. It was almost 11 o'clock. There was still half an hour before the workers' lunch break, so she might as well use this time to distribute the supplies.
