Chapter 796 Reporting Safety

"Did you borrow these things or buy them?" Qiao Xiaoni suddenly realized an important question: they only had a little over 100 yuan left.

Su Chenhao: "The bowls, chopsticks, and small pot are all borrowed. We can return them when we leave. I bought the rice, flour, and oil myself; they weren't expensive. It just so happens that the old lady next door works in the cafeteria, and she doesn't lack food at home, so I bought some."

"Our luck isn't too bad; we can still buy things without leaving home." Qiao Xiaoni took the items out of the bag and put them in the kitchen. Luckily, she had specifically asked for a gas stove when she rented the apartment; otherwise, how would she start a fire in this freezing weather?

I haven't eaten much these past few days while browsing online. With my mind relaxed, I really wanted a good meal, so I cooked all three packets of noodles and added four eggs. It made two large bowls. If only I had some vegetables from my online space, it would be perfect, but unfortunately, I didn't.

The table was wiped with a cloth, and the two began to eat, chatting idly.

I finished eating at exactly four o'clock, changed my clothes, went downstairs, found a small shop, and made a phone call.

Before leaving, I arranged for a phone to be installed. I wasn't sure if it would go through, but I dialed the number anyway, just to try it out.

As soon as the phone rang at home, Li Meihua rushed over to answer it.

Is that Nizi?

"It's me." Hearing the familiar voice, Qiao Xiaoni's uneasy heart finally calmed down.

"You silly girl, why haven't you called home for so many days?" Li Meihua cried tears of joy: "My right eye has been twitching nonstop these past few days, I was so afraid something had happened to you?"

"Mom, we've only been gone for a little over a week. You don't need to worry about us. We're doing just fine. But how's things at home? It's been snowing heavily in Kyushu these past few days. Has it affected your lives?"

"We have vegetables stored in the cellar, so we don't need to go to the market to buy groceries. We also have plenty of rice, flour, and oil at home. There are no major problems with our lives, except that your sister-in-law needs to go for her prenatal checkup, but she can't go."

Although the snow on the roads outside has lessened, the ground is still very slippery, making it unsafe to travel by car.

Don't just ask about our situation, how are things where you are?

To reassure Li Meihua, Qiao Xiaoni said, "The snow here isn't as heavy as where you are, so there shouldn't be any problems with our daily lives."

We'll go home in a few more days after we've dealt with things here.

"Okay, I'm relieved to see you safe." Li Meihua waved to Tao Chunfang and Qiao Haisheng, who were standing in the distance, "Nizi called."

Upon hearing this, Tao Chunfang quickly came over.

Qiao Haisheng was worried that his daughter-in-law would fall, so he quickly followed her.

Li Meihua continued laughing into the phone, "Your sister-in-law and your father are both here. Is there anything you want to say to them?"

"Give them the phone, I'll talk to them for a bit." Qiao Xiaoni wanted to talk to them and give them a few more instructions.

We chatted for half an hour without realizing it, and I got through to my family. Knowing that they were all doing well, I felt relieved.

When I opened the small shop, it was already completely dark, and a few snowflakes were falling from the sky.

Su Chenhao looked up at the sky and opened his divine sense, seeing a faint green light, but he didn't know what it was.

"What's so interesting about the sky?" Qiao Xiaoni looked at the gray sky and hoped that the rain and snow would be lighter.

"I saw a green light." Su Chenhao expanded his divine sense, and the green light disappeared again.
