Chapter 804 Catching a Turtle in a Jar 1

When the family gets together, a big meal is naturally prepared for dinner. All the ingredients that can be found are brought out, and the cutting board is completely covered.

Li Meihua was overjoyed because her daughter was pregnant; this was her daughter's first pregnancy.

Qiao Xiaoni was forcibly sent back to her room to rest by Su Chenhao, and then went back to the kitchen to help.

Li Meihua grew increasingly pleased with her son-in-law; he was considerate and caring, and also an excellent cook. She believed that even if they weren't here, her daughter would be well taken care of.

Silently, she used her divine sense to tell Su Chenhao and Qiao Xiaoni what was going to happen, so they could prepare for the night. She had originally thought she would be showing off her skills that night, but now that they were back, she didn't need to worry and could just relax and eat and drink without worry.

Su Chenhao and Qiao Xiaoni didn't take the matter to heart and planned to study it after dinner.

It took more than an hour for the food to finally be served.

They were served their favorite dishes: steamed dumplings with pickled cabbage, braised fish, pork ribs, stir-fried greens, stewed tofu, and finally, fish soup, white in color and garnished with chopped green onions.

Qiao Xiaoni sat down and looked at the food on the table, unable to resist wanting to eat: "These past two days I've been just eating whatever I can find outside, it's so much better at home where I can eat so much."

Li Meihua: "We have so much food at home, thanks to you for storing so much stuff. The heavy snow lasted for more than a week, and vegetables couldn't be delivered, so many families ran out of vegetables and had to rely on pickled vegetables to survive."

Thinking of the abundant vegetables in the cellar at home, I felt grateful that my daughter had been farsighted.

Qiao Xiaoni thought about the space she couldn't access for the time being, and how once the food in the cellar was gone, she would have to eat food from outside. She felt like God was playing a cruel joke on her; she was pregnant and needed nutrition.

Su Chenhao ladled a bowl of fish soup and placed it in front of Qiao Xiaoni: "You can drink the soup after it cools down a bit. This is a soup I made for you myself."

Tao Chunfang kicked Qiao Dashan's leg, signaling him to serve the soup.

Qiao Dashan learned a lesson from this experience: without comparison, there is no harm. He quickly did as instructed, not wanting to upset his wife, or he would have a commotion that night.

After half a year, Qiao Manli can now eat independently and won't cause trouble at the dinner table. She will eat whatever her chopsticks can pick up.

Su Chenqiu was overjoyed to see her brother and sister-in-law return and told them everything she had seen and heard over the past few days.

"You mean you saw a boy who looked a lot like you? And you even recognized him as your second brother?" Su Chenhao frowned slightly, this reminded him of their background. Could that boy be related to them by blood?

"Yeah, we talked on the phone yesterday!" Su Chenqiu thought of her second brother, whom she hadn't seen for many days, and really wanted to bring him in front of everyone to show them just how similar they were.

"Does their family know about our family situation?" Su Chenhao casually served food to Qiao Xiaoni.

Qiao Xiaoni's mind was racing, but she couldn't resist the baby in her belly wanting to eat, so she temporarily put those thoughts aside.

Su Chenhao patted his younger brother's head: "I believe everything you said. Let's eat first. I want to meet your adopted second brother sometime."

"Hmm." Su Chenqiu picked up his chopsticks and began to eat.

Su Chenhao felt that fate was truly unchangeable; he didn't want to encounter it, but his younger brother did. Since it was going to happen, he might as well resolve it sooner rather than later; he didn't want to disrupt the current peace.
