Chapter 816 The Mastermind 1

Qiao Xiaoni: "I had poor development in the womb, and I absorbed some toxins during my growth."

That's what caused his health to deteriorate, to the point that he wouldn't live past 30. Other doctors should have told you that.

Fu Jialin nodded: "The doctor told me that my grandson won't live past 25. He'll live one day at a time, and he might pass away any day now. His immune system will get weaker and weaker, and he won't be much different from an elderly person in their seventies."

"Grandpa!" Fu Boyi was extremely emotional. He wanted to live a good life; he didn't want to leave too soon and have his grandfather, an old man, bury his son.

Who could be so cruel as to poison him? As far back as I can remember, I've always eaten according to the doctor's instructions.

"Could it be my attending physician?"

"It's not impossible, but we'll only know for sure once we see him." Qiao Xiaoni went over and took his pulse: "Fortunately, you're not an adult male, and your body is still developing. As long as you take good care of yourself, there's still a chance of recovery."

Living to 50 is no problem, that's my minimum guarantee.

"Sister-in-law!" Fu Boyi exclaimed excitedly, "Is what you said true? Is it possible for my body to recover, and for me to be able to marry and have children like a normal person, and take care of Grandpa until he gets old?"

Qiao Xiaoni: "Of course you can. If you exercise more, you might live past 50. Anything is possible in the future."

Fu Jialin believed Qiao Xiaoni's words to a large extent and decided to give it a try: "Since you say so, then Boyi will follow you until his health is restored."

He shouldn't come home until I've figured out what's going on at home. I need to find out about the poisoning.

"Grandpa!" Fu Boyi was worried that his grandfather might be in danger if he was left alone at home. What if something happened to him?

Fu Jialin said solemnly, "You're a man, this isn't the time to cry. I'll bring you back after everything is settled."

"Grandpa, I won't leave. Please don't force me to go." Tears streamed down Fu Boyi's face. He hadn't cried since he was five years old. He had long forgotten what crying felt like; only those who had experienced it firsthand could truly understand.

"Listen to me!" Fu Jialin insisted, not wanting his grandson to be in danger.

Su Chenhao was touched by the bond between them: "Actually, things aren't as bad as you think. Once we find the chef, everything will be clear."

“It’s easier said than done. I have a feeling he’s escaped.” Fu Jialin looked dejected. “This chef has been working at home for over ten years. The person who could bribe him must be no ordinary person.”

"Grandpa, why don't you think about who did this?" Su Chenhao had already taken action against the chef who had secretly escaped. Butler Fu chased after him in the direction he had fled, and it wouldn't be long before he brought him back.

"I really can't figure it out. Does he want to wipe out our whole family? What benefit would he get from that?" Fu Jialin fell into deep thought. Who would benefit if something happened to them? If the whole family died, the belongings would naturally go to the state, and outsiders wouldn't gain anything.

Suddenly, a thought flashed through my mind and I remembered someone: Fu Dong. Over the years, apart from business dealings, we had hardly met and there had never been any conflict.

"I thought of someone, I wonder if this matter has anything to do with him?"
