Chapter 820 Fu Dong 1

Fu Dong, who had settled in a distant country, was sitting in a chair, dressed in a black suit. An investigation report lay on the table in front of him. His handsome face didn't look like he was over 50; he was at most in his early 40s.

Fu Ru knelt on the ground with a veil on her face. She had been kneeling ever since she was brought back, and she felt like her knees were about to break.

She didn't dare utter a word; there was no human warmth in this family, only relationships based on self-interest.

When I left back then, I was young and didn't understand some things. After experiencing so much, I understand everything, both what I should and shouldn't understand.

"You good-for-nothing! I sent you back to gather information, and what did you do? Go to school? What can you possibly learn with a brain like yours?" Fu Dong couldn't help but berate his daughter. He thought he should have sent his son back instead. Perhaps with his cooperation, they would have already taken everything back.

I will never forget what my father said before he died: we must take back all the family property.

Fu Ru: "Dad, I also wanted to find out information, but I couldn't find out anything. I thought that if I did well in school, I could get close to them, but who knew that something like this would happen."

She couldn't help but cover her face with her hands. What use was she now that her face was disfigured?

Fu Dong casually picked up a teacup from the table and threw it at her: "Now that you've become someone who can't possibly not be a ghost, how dare you come back? Why didn't you just die out there?"

The teacup smashed against her forehead, and blood flowed down. Fu Ru nearly fainted from the pain, and her veil fell to the ground, revealing her ugly face.

Fu Dong was not afraid when he saw her face, but became interested in it. He quickly got up and hurried to her side.

"Dad, please spare me!" Fu Ru pleaded desperately as she lay on the ground. She wanted a place to stay, not a big place, just a place where she could have enough to eat and wear.

"How long has this face been like this?" Fu Dong didn't seem disgusted. He touched it with his hand to confirm that it wasn't faked but real.

"It's been over a month, and I don't know why my face has become like this." Fu Ru felt utterly hopeless; her father had seen her at her ugliest. She was completely useless to him now. Would she be kicked out and left to die on the streets?

After confirming this, Fu Dong stood up and said, "You've probably been poisoned. I don't know what kind of poison it is, but we can have the lab investigate it."

"Poison?" Fu Ru had considered the possibility that her face was poisoned. So much time had passed, and she had seen many doctors, but none of them had told her that she was poisoned.

"I can't be wrong, you've been poisoned to look like this." Fu Dong walked to the table, took out some alcohol and wiped his hands. He couldn't be sure what kind of poison it was, but the other party was definitely a master of poisons.

"Dad, is there any hope for my face? My hair has fallen out so much, will it never grow back?" At this moment, Fu Ru could only think about her beauty. Now that there was hope, she was even less likely to give up.

Fu Dong: "We still need to have the lab study what kind of poison it is. If you want your face to recover, you will suffer more pain in the future than you are now."

"I'm willing to give anything to recover," Fu Ru said with unwavering determination. She would rather live with beauty than live with ugliness.
