Fu Dong was startled awake. He sat up and saw that it was the butler. He said impatiently to him, "What's going on? Don't you know I'm sleeping?"
"Something's happened. Someone's stormed in with a bunch of weapons." The foreign butler was tempted to leave. He regretted coming in to report the news earlier and instead grabbed his belongings and ran away.
"What? How is this possible?" Fu Dong trusted his subordinates whom he had trained over the years; after all, he had spent so much money, and each of them was armed. What kind of people could have stormed in?
Gunshots rang out, followed by the sound of a rocket. The windowpane shattered, and he panicked completely.
"housekeeper!"
"Don't call me, I have to run for my life." The foreign butler sensed something was wrong and that he might not make it this time. Why stay and die? He turned and ran towards the front door. Just as he was about to escape, something hit him on the back of the head.
Looking back, he realized it was just a vase. And the person who hit him was none other than Fu Dong, who was standing on the ground.
"Why?"
"You wanted to run away? Then run!" Fu Dong tied the belt of his pajamas: "Have you forgotten what I told you before? What I hate most is betrayal. You are all slaves I raised."
"Without me, how would you live? Do you know what I feed you every month? It's not a longevity pill, but an antidote to prolong your lives."
Even if the butler was stupid, he would know that he had been poisoned. He had a terrible headache, and then his vision went black and he fainted.
Fu Dong turned around and took out a submachine gun from the drawer, wanting to see who was trying to kill him.
Just as he was about to go downstairs, he saw a group of people rushing up, dressed in black and wearing masks.
He had seen this outfit not long ago; it belonged to someone from an underground bank.
"What exactly do you want?"
As soon as he finished asking that question, several bullets flew towards him, and he dodged to the side, using the wall to block them.
“Mr. Fu, our master invites you. If you lay down your weapon now, we will absolutely not shoot you.”
If you bring a weapon again, don't blame us for being ruthless. "A knife has no mercy, a gun has no eyes"—that's an old saying from your country.
Fu Dong hadn't expected them to be the ones to break in; no wonder his men couldn't hold them off.
I reckon most of them are dead by now, otherwise they wouldn't have been able to break in. After thinking it over, there's only one way left: escape through the tunnels.
This was the last path he left for himself. He picked up his gun, turned around, went back into the house, and lifted the bed board to find the entrance to the secret passage.
After going inside, I closed the bed with the button, thinking I had gotten away with it unnoticed, but the butler saw everything.
So when the others rushed in, the foreign butler, in order to save his life, revealed the entrance to the tunnel.
He thought this would save his life, but little did he know that he would be shot dead as soon as he finished speaking.
The group lifted the bed board and then jumped down one after another.
This tunnel was built many years ago, and everyone who knew about it was fed to sharks.
Fu Dong was confident he could escape unnoticed. Once out, he could find out what had happened, why his entire family had been wiped out by the underground bank. Logically, they had just completed a transaction, and he hadn't said he wouldn't repay the money; the repayment was due in half a month. Their actions at that time would be understandable. Too many questions remained unanswered; escaping was the priority.
