Chapter 855 No comparison, no harm 2

Yan Tao looked up: "Where am I supposed to get you chicken soup? I told you before that I would ask your mother to come and take care of you during your postpartum period. You didn't listen, and now there's no one to take care of you. What can I do?"

“You can hire someone! I’m not in good health, where am I going to get milk to feed him?” Pei Lina said confidently.

"The baby can drink formula. I've already pulled some strings to get a few cans. If you weren't lying in the hospital bed, I would have taken our son home by now, and he would have been drinking formula long ago." Yan Tao said nonchalantly. In his family, the woman had no say when the man spoke.

Having been used to being in control all these years, the only reason I've tolerated Pei Lina for so long is because of her pregnancy.

"I'm hungry!" Pei Lina suddenly felt a pang of grievance, which grew stronger and stronger, making her feel that all she was doing was not worth it.

“Look at our son, I’ll go out for a walk and buy whatever I can get you to eat.” Yan Tao finally gave in. He couldn’t stand the stares from others, so he decided to stay at the hospital for one night and then take the man back to his rented room.

Now that he's had a son, he needs to figure out how to rightfully bring the child home to raise. Would his wife believe he found the child outside?

Little did he know, his wife found out immediately that he had taken someone to the hospital to give birth.

He kept a mistress and had children outside the marriage, thinking he was doing it secretly, but in reality, everyone at home knew everything.

Yan Tao's wife came from a remote mountain village, and her feudalistic thinking prevented her from doing anything. She thought that since she had three daughters, no matter how bad they were, she wouldn't kick them out.

Qiao Xiaoni glanced at Pei Lina lying on the bed. Pei Lina's current state was entirely her own fault. Breaking up someone else's family and having a child—wasn't she afraid of retribution?

The little boy placed beside the bed is quite handsome, no less so than his sister-in-law's newborn child.

They left the hospital and got into a taxi.

Su Chenhao: "Old Yan, you're oversimplifying things."

"It all boils down to sexism." Qiao Xiaoni leaned on his shoulder, a little tired. "Do you prefer boys or girls?"

"I don't care, as long as it's your child." Su Chenhao put his arm around her shoulder. "Just bear with it. Your sister-in-law should be able to leave the hospital tomorrow. Out of sight, out of mind. He'll regret what he did sooner or later."

"Hmm." Qiao Xiaoni didn't want to meddle in other people's business. What was the point of meddling in such things? The child had already been born; the child was the one who would suffer.

Back home, I took out the already butchered chicken from the kitchen and put it in a large pot to stew. I couldn't add salt, only a little scallion and ginger. Suddenly, I thought about my postpartum period. Would I be able to eat chicken soup without salt?

After thinking for a moment, she boiled ten more eggs, intending to make a late-night snack for everyone, but Su Chenhao stopped her. She tried to argue, but was immediately carried back into the house and placed on the bed.

"I'll take care of everything from now on. You rest for a bit, and I'll bring the food to your room for you to eat in a little while," Su Chenhao said as he covered her with a blanket.

Qiao Xiaoni remembered, but a wave of drowsiness washed over her, and she realized she hadn't slept all day. Her body couldn't take it anymore, and she closed her eyes and fell asleep.

Su Chenhao waited until everyone was asleep before leaving the room and heading to the kitchen to get busy.

Ever since he learned that his grandson had been born, Qiao Haisheng had been overjoyed.

Qiao Manli sat at the table drawing. She drew her parents and her newborn baby brother. Finally, she drew her own family of four.
