As it was getting dark, Tang Jiajia sold the scrap metal she had collected and hurried to the roast chicken shop. She found the main entrance closed, with only a small door remaining.
I walked to the door and knocked gently. When the owner came out, I handed him the money.
"This is the money I paid for the roast chicken."
The owner shook his head: "I'm sorry, those two roast chickens were snatched away by a regular customer."
"What?" Tang Jiajia felt dizzy and thought that she would definitely get a beating if she didn't buy roast chicken. Suddenly, she felt hopeless.
The shop owner noticed the girl's belly was getting bigger, and figured she was pregnant. He felt he'd been a bit dishonest. After thinking for a moment, he turned back, put some chicken butts in a paper bag, and returned to the door to hand them to her.
"I can't help you with anything else. You can take these chicken butts home and eat them. They're free."
"Thank you, boss." Tang Jiajia looked at the paper bag in her hand. Before, she would have thrown away the chicken's rear end long ago. After enduring these past few months of hardship, she felt that anything made of meat was acceptable. After all, it was all from the chicken; what couldn't she eat?
The boss shook his head as he watched the poor little girl walk further and further away, then turned and closed the door.
Tang Jiajia returned home with her things, but before she could even speak, Guo Chenpi snatched her handbag away.
"What kind of junk did I buy?" Guo Chenpi threw the bag on the ground after discovering that it didn't contain roast chicken.
"The roast chicken is sold out. This is a chicken butt the boss gave me. If you don't want it, I will." Tang Jiajia squatted down and started picking things up.
Guo Chenpi didn't feel he'd gotten a good deal when he heard it was from the boss; instead, he thought the boss was interested in Tang Jiajia. He stomped hard on her right hand.
"You shameless woman, have you been out flirting with someone?"
"I didn't." Tang Jiajia felt like her right hand had been crushed, and she was afraid of the pain if she tried to pull it out, so she could only plead desperately.
Guo Chenpi kicked the food aside: "You're not allowed to eat it."
"Okay." Tang Jiajia quickly nodded in agreement.
Seeing the rat poison under the cabinet, I felt that this kind of life was meaningless.
Guo Chenpi loosened his foot: "I'm going out to buy some groceries tomorrow. A friend of mine is coming over to discuss business."
"Okay." Tang Jiajia quickly agreed, afraid that if she spoke too late she would be beaten again.
A man did come to the house the next day, and the two talked for a long time. A few days later, Guo Chenpi took his things and left, disappearing for more than half a month.
When he returned, he was a completely different person. He didn't beat or scold her; instead, he gave her some money. From that day on, Tang Jiajia's life slowly began to improve.
Four months have passed in the blink of an eye, and the small workshop has been transformed into a large factory. The number of female workers has reached 500, and there are about 100 male workers, mainly responsible for loading and transportation. The workshop earns at least 30,000 yuan every month.
Su Chenhao decided to hand over the factory business entirely to Gu Anyi, and the Fu family business to his assistants. Then he could stay home and focus on his wife's pregnancy.
After several months of nurturing, the Xuan Tian Han Yu has grown to the size of a bowl. Tonight is the night of the full moon, and feeding it two more drops of blood will be enough to complete the process.
Tomorrow happens to be Xiaoni's birthday, so I'll give it to her as a gift.
At the dinner table that evening.
Li Meihua distributed steamed eggs with minced meat to everyone, one for each person: "Tomorrow is Nizi's birthday, and I'm not planning to cook at home. How about we go to a restaurant to eat?"
