Walking into the backyard, I saw a lot of vegetables in the garden: bok choy, scallions, radishes, and potatoes. The flowers had just been removed, so the potatoes probably weren't very big.
Su Chenhao: "What vegetables are you planning to pick? I'll help you."
After looking at them one by one, Qiao Xiaoni finally decided that radish was the most suitable. When she thought of the famous Northeastern dish of stewed pork with dried radish, her eyes lit up.
"Help me get some radishes out and fill this basket. It's getting dark, we need to hurry."
"Okay." Su Chenhao squatted down and began to select radishes. He didn't pull them out in order, but rather selected them by distance, keeping the better ones so they would grow into big radishes in another month.
Qiao Xiaoni didn't know how to pick radishes, so she followed behind him and sorted the radishes into the basket. Soon the basket was full, and she felt that was about right.
"Okay, that's enough."
Su Chenhao stood up, clapped his hands, and then picked up the basket: "Let's go back then."
Qiao Xiaoni nodded and followed him home. Sure enough, she heard the dog barking again when she got to the door.
"It looks like we can't leave without feeding these dogs."
“You can’t give them to them. If you do, the dogs will gather at your doorstep. They can tell from your eyes that you’re so afraid of dogs, and they’ll bark at you relentlessly.” Su Chenhao picked out a stick from the haystack and placed it in Qiao Xiaoni’s hand: “Use the stick to hit them. Seeing the determination in his eyes, Qiao Xiaoni tightened her grip on the wooden stick, emboldened herself, and swung the stick at the pack of dogs blocking the doorway: "Get out of here!"
When the dog saw the stick, it instinctively flinched. Seeing that the stick was fierce, the lead dog left first, and the other dogs followed suit.
They are all domesticated dogs, not stray dogs from the roadside, and they are still afraid of people.
Qiao Xiaoni was very happy to have chased the dog away. She threw the wooden stick on the ground and shook Su Chenhao's arm: "Great, I did it. You don't know that I'm most afraid of dogs."
Especially that fiercest black dog inside, its glare was truly terrifying.

Seeing her serious expression, Qiao Xiaoni realized that she was still holding Su Chenhao's arm and quickly let go.
Su Chenhao also noticed something was wrong: "Auntie, a lot of dogs gathered at the door just now. We chased them away, and Xiao Ni was terrified."
"The dog at the gate? Xiao Ni, when did you become so afraid of dogs? I've never heard you mention it before," Li Meihua said casually.
Since the original owner wasn't afraid of dogs, Qiao Xiaoni quickly explained, "I was afraid you'd worry, so I didn't tell you before. Those dogs were too fierce; they wouldn't leave unless they were given meat."
Li Meihua: "I glanced over when the dogs were barking just now, and the black dog belonged to Aunt Liu. She doesn't like to feed her dogs, so she lets them out whenever they're hungry."
We really angered her today; she must have let that dog out on purpose. It's outrageous! I'll definitely talk to her about it next time. How can someone act like that? What if someone got hurt?
