Chapter 21 Su Chenhao's Past 3

Su Chenhao's face darkened as he thought of his younger brother and what he had discovered when he returned home yesterday. He had assumed that if he sent money home regularly, his aunt would at least provide his brother with a decent meal. However, the reality was far different from what he had imagined. His brother was emaciated from hunger, and when he bathed him last night, there were faint scars on his body. After questioning him repeatedly, he only said that he had accidentally fallen.

He's only ten years old and he already knows how to keep things secret. I feel a little regretful that I didn't take him out with me at the time.

“His health is still okay, but he suffered a lot in the two years I was away. I was originally thinking of going out to work for a few more years and then coming back to take good care of him, but the current situation doesn't allow it anymore, so I will stay in the village and not leave anymore.”

"Let's look around and scavenge some stuff to make a living for us brothers. Things will be better when he grows up."

Qiao Xiaoshan was confused, but he grasped the key point: "You mean you'll never leave the village again? Can I ask you to play with me then?"

You don't know how slow-witted my older brother is. We can't even have a conversation with him. The people I know from work are all older than him, and we can't connect at all when we chat with them.

"Okay, you can come to my house if you have time. I just don't know if I'll be home."

"Then it's settled, bro. I'll definitely chat with you when I have time."

As Qiao Xiaoni passed by the candy stall, she thought of her daughter, Xiao Manli, at home: "Wait for me, I'm going to buy some candy." She had overheard that this man had a younger brother. She decided to buy some candy for him too; it wouldn't cost much.

The candy stall had all sorts of candies. I picked out a few of each kind and had the owner put them in two separate bags. After paying, I turned around and saw them still talking next to me. Just as I was about to walk over, a bicycle came towards me. A little girl was running around in the middle of the road and was about to be hit by the bicycle. I rushed over and was about to pick up the child when Su Chenhao took the child away. Then my right hand was grabbed and the two of them darted to the side of the road.

The bicycle crashed into a nearby stall, and the man fell down, yelling, "It hurts so much! Someone help me up!"

Qiao Xiaoni comforted the frightened girl: "You must watch where you're going when you walk in the future, and don't be so playful again."

The little girl nodded obediently.

At that moment, a middle-aged woman rushed out from the crowd, carrying a basket, and hurriedly hugged the little girl.

"You disobedient child, you disappeared in the blink of an eye. Do you know how worried I was?"

When the little girl saw her mother arrive, she started to cry, feeling wronged.

Someone nearby told the middle-aged woman what had happened, which startled her. After recovering, she quickly turned to the two young men in front of her and said...

"Thank you so much just now. If it weren't for you, my child would definitely have been hurt today."

Qiao Xiaoni took out two pieces of candy and put them in the hands of the little girl who was still about to cry: "Here's some candy for you, don't cry anymore. Only disobedient children cry."

The little girl saw the candy and heard the words, and she held back her tears. The middle-aged woman took out a handkerchief and wiped the child's tears: "Remember what I said, don't just think about eating candy. I saved you, so hurry up and thank me."

The little girl looked bewildered and said, "Thank you for saving me, sister."

"Good girl!" Qiao Xiaoni patted the little girl's head.
