Chapter 200 Detention

Lu Yang and Yao Lili moved tables and chairs, found a place to sit in the job market, and put up a sign to recruit a cashier.

Yao Lili was engrossed in drawing design sketches, while Lu Yang sat to the side, eating roasted sweet potatoes and glancing at the people around him.

About ten minutes later, a girl with short, ear-length hair walked over and asked, "How much is the monthly salary for a cashier like you?"

Lu Yang looked up at her. The girl looked to be in her early twenties, with a youthful face, clearly a recent graduate.

"The probationary period is three months, with a monthly salary of 80 yuan. After becoming a regular employee, the monthly salary is 100 yuan. There are five social insurances and one housing fund. Lunch is provided, but accommodation is not provided."

Lu Yang calmly pointed to the sign standing next to the table and said.

The girl glanced at the sign and asked, "Is there a test required?"

Lu Yang took out a pre-printed set of questions and handed it to the girl, saying, "You can sit here."

The girl nodded and began working on her problems with great focus.

Lu Yang nodded. These days, most girls who learn a trade are still very simple and honest.

He glanced at Yao Lili and noticed that she was also looking at the girl before quickly lowering his head to continue drawing the design.

After a while, people started coming to inquire about the recruitment process. Lu Yang answered them one by one, and then had them do a calculation test.

The girl arrived earliest and was the first to finish. She handed the completed question to Lu Yang and said, "I am a vocational school graduate this year."

Lu Yang nodded, took the question she handed him, and began to look at it carefully.

He glanced at it briefly, confirmed that all the answers were correct, and nodded in satisfaction.

In such a short time, one cannot judge a person's character, but since one has taken this job, one must at least be competent in their work.

Lu Yang remained silent, waiting for the others to finish their questions. He wasn't just hiring one cashier; he needed to assess the others' abilities before making a decision.

After waiting for about 15 minutes, the others also finished solving the problems one after another. Lu Yang asked them to write their names on the problems and then checked them one by one.

These days, having a vocational school diploma is considered quite impressive, so Lu Yang doesn't expect them all to be outstanding.

Sure enough, after looking around, he found that only 3 people had answered the questions correctly, while the remaining dozen or so people had all answered the questions incorrectly.

Lu Yang placed the question on the table and pointed to the three people: "Hu Tao, Bi Haolin, Wu Ling, the three of you will come to work at the factory. You will have a three-month probationary period."

Hu Tao was the first girl to apply for the job. After hearing Lu Yang's words, she almost jumped up. Lu Yang didn't know that their factory was famous because of its good benefits.

Although it was run by people from out of town, they never withheld wages, the work was relatively easy, and the boss was kind.

It was the good salary and relaxed working environment that made her apply immediately, and she was surprised to actually get the job.

Bi Haolin was forced to find a new employer because his original factory had closed down.

But when he saw that other factories were offering 50 yuan a month, he immediately decided he didn't want to go anymore.

Lu Yang's factory was willing to pay 80 yuan during the trial period, which was worth a try, even if it was a bit risky.

Wu Ling had offended someone while working as an accountant in another factory. In addition, he had a bad temper and wasn't very good at interpersonal communication, so he had some problems with his relationships and couldn't stay in his original factory.

Fortunately, the job search went relatively smoothly for them. The three of them agreed and went home to prepare.

When the others saw that Lu Yang had decided to hire only these three people, they were somewhat disappointed and went to apply for jobs elsewhere.

Yao Lili put down the design drawings in her hand and said with a smile, "You like to get things done quickly."

Lu Yang calmly said, "In the end, not all three of these people will necessarily stay. It would be good if we could only choose one out of three. We may have to continue recruiting."

Yao Lili shook her head and said, "I trust my judgment. At least Hu Tao and that Wu Ling are a good match."

“Bi Haoran seems like a seasoned veteran; we’ll have to be more careful around him in the future.”

Lu Yang nodded slightly. The two packed their things, put them in the car, and found a nearby restaurant to eat.

He was eating when his mobile phone suddenly rang.

Lu Yang answered the phone, and Zheng Wei's voice came through: "Boss, Mr. Han is searching all over Kyoto for Lu Qing's whereabouts, but he hasn't found her after a whole day."

Lu Yang was certain that Zhou Li had already made his move, so he wasn't surprised at all.

He wished Lu Qing would just die.

So he calmly said, "Keep an eye on this. If the woman is found, give me a call. If she isn't found, you don't need to call me."

Zheng Wei's heart sank; he knew that Lu Yang was determined not to save him.

There was no need for him to cause any unnecessary trouble. He simply agreed, hung up the phone, and went back to his advertising company with his hands in his pockets.

Lu Qing, whom they mentioned, was still being held in a small warehouse.

She was covered in wounds, beaten to the point of near death, and hadn't eaten or drunk anything for a day and a night; she was barely clinging to life.

Zhou Li circled him once, his eyes filled with satisfaction, and said coldly, "You're not going to scream anymore? Your Mr. Han didn't come to save you!"

He had been furious with Lu Qing before, but now that he had gotten his revenge with interest, he felt incredibly relieved.

Lu Qing weakly opened her eyes; her left eye was bloodshot from the blow and she couldn't see anything clearly.

Her right eye was still intact, and she stared at Zhou Li with her right eye, her eyes no longer showing any resentment or tension.

All she felt was fear; she was now fully experiencing the agony of impending death.

She choked back tears and pleaded, "Mr. Zhou, please let me go. I really know I was wrong. I shouldn't have hurt Zhou Kewei."

Zhou Li stared at her expressionlessly for a while, then suddenly burst into laughter.

"Didn't you refuse to beg for mercy before? Why are you suddenly begging? Do you know you're about to die, or do you think you're in the wrong?"

Lu Qing was stunned. Indeed, she didn't think she was wrong at all.

She lost her studies and future because of Zhou Kewei, so of course she hated Zhou Kewei and wished she could kill him.

She absolutely couldn't say these things now, because saying them would only enrage Zhou Li.

Zhou Li would kill her immediately, so she could only endure it and continue to plead: "Uncle Zhou, as long as you don't kill me, I'll do anything you want."

Zhou Li looked at her with a half-smile, as if she were a fool.

"You're a good-for-nothing, you can't do anything right."

“As soon as I let you out of this door, you will immediately call the police or find that Mr. Han to deal with us. You will never let us go. I have already seen your viciousness with my son.”

Lu Qing opened her mouth, but no words came out.

Because Zhou Li saw right through her.

She's just a young girl in her early twenties, how could she possibly fool someone like Zhou Li, a seasoned veteran who's been navigating the social world for decades?
