Chapter 52 Finding Opportunities in the Black Market

Yao Lili's face was ashen. She glanced at Lu Yang cautiously, and Lu Yang returned her a smile.

They all lived in the same village, so Lu Yang knew who Yao's father and Yao Jinbao were.

After the three entered the house, Lu Yang placed all the items on the table next to him.

Yao's father tore open a pack of Daqianmen cigarettes, took out a packet, opened it, and lit one for himself.

What's up?

Mr. Yao asked, exhaling a smoke ring with a look of enjoyment on his face.

Lu Yang said politely, "I also want to tell you that I want to date Lili, and we'll get married when we reach the legal age."

"If you agree, I'll give you a thousand yuan after we get our marriage certificate."

When Yao's father heard the amount of one thousand yuan, his eyes widened instantly.

His daughter is very stubborn; if he says one thing, she'll say ten.

I originally thought that with my good looks, I could only sell it for three or five hundred yuan at most, but I didn't expect Lu Yang to be willing to pay a thousand.

Mr. Yao asked suspiciously, "Your grandma has been telling everyone that you run errands and sell clothes for people, and you don't earn much money, but people in dire need of money to buy color TVs. Where did you get a thousand yuan?"

Lu Yang smiled and said, "Can you lend me a thousand yuan?"

Without a second thought, Yao's father shook his head: "I can't borrow it, not even a hundred."

Lu Yang continued smiling, "But I can borrow it."

As he spoke, he took out three hundred from his pocket: "This is the deposit. The remaining seven hundred will be given to you after I reach the legal age in two years and get married to Lili."

Yao's father jumped off the kang (a heated brick bed) and rushed to the next room without even putting on his shoes.

When he returned, he was holding a pen and paper. He handed them to Lu Yang and said, "Write an IOU for seven hundred yuan, and then I'll find someone to get you a marriage certificate."

"It's just a matter of flirting with someone two years older, and we can get married this month!"

Lu Yang really didn't expect that Yao's father was even more anxious than him, and was really going all out for those seven hundred yuan.

"Father-in-law, let's go to the county now, get our marriage certificate, and I'll treat you to a meal!"

Lu Yang immediately followed up.

Mr. Yao put on his shoes, stuffed three hundred yuan into his pocket, and immediately took out the household registration book from the cabinet, saying, "Let's go, let's go now!"

Yao Lili looked at her father with a gloomy face. Although she knew what kind of person her own father was, she still couldn't help but feel cold.

She could tell that both her father and Lu Yang were eager to get married, and both were worried that the other would regret it.

Thinking of this, Yao Lili couldn't help but smile and took Lu Yang's hand.

The three left the village and headed straight for the county.

Lu Yang regretted not driving over. By the time the three of them arrived in the county, it was almost dark.

"Father-in-law, let's go eat first, then I'll find you a guesthouse to stay in. We'll go tomorrow morning!"

Mr. Yao was itching to get those seven hundred yuan, but he still agreed.

The three of them found a restaurant, which was bustling with activity during lunchtime.

"Dead? Really?"

A bald man in the restaurant asked.

"The Tang family is now completely destroyed."

Lu Yang's curiosity was immediately piqued, and he asked, "Who died?"

Yao Lili said with a look of satisfaction, "Old Mrs. Tang is dead."

Lu Yang continued, "How did you die?"

Yao Lili shook her head: "I don't know the specifics. After Sister Xiaoxue and the others left, Old Mrs. Tang could only be handed over to her second daughter-in-law. The old lady couldn't move half of her body. I heard that she got up in the middle of the night and hit her head on the bedside table and died."

"The Tang family's reputation was notorious throughout the county. She died, and her third son never came back!"

Lu Yang couldn't help but chuckle. In his previous life, the Tang family was quite prestigious.

Lu Yao's wife is Tang Jincheng's cousin. I never expected that things would turn out this way in this life because of his interference.

When he got to the convenience store, he paid to call the electronics store back.

Old Yu answered the phone quickly, and Lu Yang recounted everything that had happened at the Tang family.

There was a long silence on the other end of the phone, then Yu Guangxue's choked voice came through: "She's really dead?"

Lu Yang confirmed, "Yes, the news has already spread throughout the county."

Yu Guangxue exclaimed excitedly, "Retribution! She deserves to die!"

Old Yu asked excitedly, "When are you coming back?"

"We'll go back in three or four days, and then we'll have a couple of drinks together."

Lu Yang smiled, chatted for a few more minutes, and then hung up the phone.

The next morning, Yao Lili dressed up carefully and put on the beige coat that Lu Yang had brought back for her from the south.

The two held hands and instead of going to Yao's father, the three of them went to the marriage registration office together.

Yao's father went inside and chatted with an acquaintance for a long time, then came out dejectedly.

"Sigh, he said the checks have been strict lately and they don't allow things to be done in advance, so he doesn't want to cause trouble for himself!"

Mr. Yao beat his chest and stamped his feet in despair: "Seven hundred yuan!"

Yao Lili rolled her eyes and said coldly, "Then we'll be leaving first. You can go back by yourself."

"You brat, you don't need to face forward, you don't need to face backward."

Yao's father cursed angrily from behind.

Yao Lili ignored him and pulled Lu Yang out of the marriage registration office.

Lu Yang took her to a jewelry store and bought all three pieces of gold jewelry. Although he was a little disappointed, he quickly calmed down.

It wasn't until it was almost dark that Lu Yang took her back to the Lu family home.

Lu Yang held Yao Lili's hand and said, "One store is too few, and the profits are limited. I plan to open another branch when I get back."

"If the store opens successfully, could you come and help out?"

Yao Lili nodded: "Of course, your business is my business."

Lu Yang couldn't help but hug Yao Lili, wanting to stay like this forever.

But time together is always fleeting, and the next morning, Lu Yang and Cheng Lin drove back to the provincial capital.

Lu Yang paid an extra moving fee to have all the furniture delivered to his new house by the furniture store staff.
