Lu Yang chatted with Wu Sanlin for a while, then got up and headed to the county.
He went to get his food first before going to the hospital.
Lu's mother and Lu Xing were both awake and in good spirits.
"Let's eat first."
After entering the ward, Lu Yang smiled at them.
Lu's mother said with some concern, "You went to see your father? Don't confront him directly, or people will gossip about you."
Cheng Lin couldn't help but sigh, took the food Lu Yang handed him, and started eating in silence.
Lu Yang smiled and said calmly, "I bribed Wu Sanlin to report Lu Jianjun for embezzling village funds and also called the police."
"Lu Jianjun's scandalous deeds have been exposed, and he has been taken away by the police."
Cheng Lin burst into laughter like a pig: "You've really pushed your dad into a fire pit this time!"
"Even if he doesn't go to jail, he'll definitely be talked about behind his back in your village!"
Lu Yang calmly said, "This is nothing. It's his own fault for not being able to control his claws and hitting people randomly!"
Lu Xing then spoke up: "What if he forces us to pay money to bail him out?"
"He's forcing me to give it to him? You've reminded me of something."
Lu Yang got up and went to Lu's mother and Lu Xing's attending physician. After getting the medical records, he went straight to the police station and reported Lu Jianjun.
Although he knew it was useless, and that even if he called the police about domestic violence ten years from now, it would be pointless, as the police would only try to smooth things over.
But at least the police need to know about this, so that when they refuse to pay Lu Jianjun, others won't say they're heartless.
When Lu Yang entered the police station, Lu Jianjun and the others were taking his statement. Lu Yang didn't expect that they hadn't finished taking his statement yet.
Upon seeing Lu Yang, Lu Jianjun immediately snorted coldly. He turned to the police and said, "This is my eldest son. I've spent all my money on his upbringing over the years, but unfortunately, he's a good-for-nothing and still didn't get into university!"
The police officer frowned and looked at Lu Yang, who said coldly, "Wu San and the others know exactly where his money is going; nobody's blind!"
Wu Sanlin immediately cursed, "You really are like a mad dog, biting anyone you can get your hands on! Haven't you spent all your money on that widow Guan Xiuqin, and on Lu Yao and Lu Qing all these years?"
Li Dayong, who was standing next to her, chimed in, "That's right. Every time Lu Qing calls, she asks for money within three sentences. You have to mail her two or three hundred every time. Where does that money come from?"
Upon hearing this, the other villagers hurriedly asked if it was true. Li Dayong shouted, "Of course it's true. I was too lazy to say it before, but Lu Jianjun's favoritism has been going on for a long time."
"Who the hell knows that he embezzled the village's money to support his younger brother, sister-in-law, nephews, and nieces!"
Lu Jianjun regretted dragging Lu Yang into this. Fearing that these people would go too far and affect Guan Xiuqin and the others, he immediately stopped them, saying, "Shut up! Lu Yang also graduated from high school. Of course, his tuition was paid with the money I embezzled!"
Upon hearing this, the villagers' expressions changed, and Lu Yang couldn't help but sneer: "Then let me ask you, I started working in the fields when I was seven years old, and my mother and I cultivated the Lu family's six mu of land every year. Where did the money from selling the crops go?"
Lu Jianjun glared at Lu Yang, momentarily at a loss for words.
Lu Yang continued to question with a cold smile: "What about the money my mother earned after the autumn harvest when she helped other families pick corn, gather peanuts, and cut pig feed with the four of us siblings?"
"You really know how to lie through your teeth. If my four children and I hadn't worked like dogs every day at the Lu family's house, we probably wouldn't even have a bite to eat. You treat us so harshly, and you still have the nerve to say that we spent the money you embezzled? If you have that kind of money, how could you possibly give us a single penny!"
Li Dayong couldn't help but gasp: "It's true. In the past, all the work in the fields and at home was done by Lu Yang and her two wives."
Wu Sanlin and the others looked at Lu Jianjun with disdain. Even now, he was still trying to pin the blame on the most innocent son. He was truly heartless.
Lu Jianjun didn't see anything wrong with it at all, and stubbornly shouted, "Isn't this how it should be? No matter who Tian Zhaodi marries, she still has to work in the fields, cook, feed the pigs, and take care of the children. The family is not well-off, so what's wrong with the children starting to work early? Isn't that how every family is?"
Lu Yang said coldly, "Why doesn't Guan Xiuqin do it? Why don't Lu Yao and Lu Qing do it?"
Lu Jianjun said angrily, "Why do you care about others? Just do what you're supposed to do, isn't that enough? Tell me, which family in the village doesn't live like this?"
Lu Yang pulled up a chair and sat down. The police officers next to him didn't say anything to stop them, but all frowned and stared at the father and son.
"Why should I care about others? Just tell me whether the money you embezzled was spent by Guan Xiuqin and the others. It has nothing to do with me."
Lu Jianjun choked for a moment; he hadn't expected Lu Yang to disagree with him.
He immediately fell silent, because it was indeed the truth.
Lu Yang wasn't going to let him off the hook, and continued, "Before Lu Yao left, his medical expenses were nearly a thousand. The clothes, shoes, watch, backpack, and even a piece of clothing you bought for him must have cost five hundred. You gave him at least three hundred for living expenses, right? Where did all this money come from?"
“I happened to see Lu Qing withdrawing money in the provincial capital. She withdrew 1,200 yuan at once. Where did a student like her get so much money?”
Li Dayong, impulsive by nature, shouted upon hearing Lu Yang's words, "Damn it, Lu Jianjun, I'll kill you! You took my money and let others spend it! I've never saved up 1200 in my entire life!"
He then lunged at Lu Jianjun, who was caught off guard and had his neck grabbed, unable to break free.
The police officer then slowly walked over to Li Dayong, pulled him aside, and coldly reminded him, "Keep yourselves in check, this is the police station!"
Several villagers who were eager to try their luck stopped themselves after hearing what the police said.
After coughing for a while, Lu Jianjun shouted, "He's talking nonsense! I didn't buy Xiao Yao much, and I don't have any money from him!"
