Chapter Five: Forcing Them Back

After a long pause, he said guiltily, "Don't talk nonsense, Lu Yao is your second uncle's son!"

Spreading such rumors does us no good!

Lu Yang sneered inwardly. He had deliberately sent his mother and the others away so that he could warn Lu Jianjun alone.

He didn't want Lu's mother to know about Lu Jianjun and Guan Xiuqin's sordid affair, fearing it would cause her to break down.

Lu Yang said coldly, "The four of us don't own a single house or a single plot of land in the village, and we could move away at any time."

"But you're different. You'd better not push me. Since we've separated, let's each live our own lives. Don't test my limits!"

Lu Jianjun pointed at Lu Yang's nose, trembling with rage, and cursed, "Bastard!"

Lu Yang stared at him with a mocking expression. In his previous life, he had always obeyed Lu Jianjun, but Lu Jianjun had never given him a kind look.

Lu Jianjun was so angry that his face contorted and he raised his hand to hit Lu Yang. He was used to hitting Lu Yang.

Lu Yang gripped Lu Jianjun's wrist, making him wince in pain. He said coldly, "Since you think we didn't take enough, I'll go to the Lu family's house later and choose something else myself."

Lu Jianjun roared, "You dare, you little bastard!"

Lu Yang tilted his head and looked at him: "Didn't you force me to do this? Why do you think I'd let it go?"

"It's still one of two choices: you take the things you took from the gatekeeper back to me, or I can go to the Lu family and pick whatever I want!"

"I went up the mountain to cut some grass. You'd better make a decision before I get back!"

After saying that, Lu Yang shook off his hand, grabbed the village branch's sickle, and went into the mountains.

Enraged, Lu Jianjun kicked the empty flowerpot in front of him, his toes aching from the effort. He was covered in sweat and gritted his teeth, saying, "If I had known he was born, I would have strangled him!"
