Chapter Ninety-Two: Family Scandals Should Be Aired in Public

On Monday morning around 8 a.m., the student council president came to find Lu Yang to go to the principal's office.

Chi Yucong and Lu Yang walked at the back together. They had occasionally eaten together during this period, so their relationship was fairly good.

"Are you really forcing your parents to separate from the family?"

Chi Yucong found it hard to believe, after all, in his impression, Lu Yang had always been a kind and calm person.

Lu Yang calmly replied, "Yes."

Chi Yucong's eyes widened immediately, staring at Lu Yang as if he were a monster.

The student council president, who was walking ahead, snorted coldly, said nothing, and quickened his pace.

They quickly walked out of the teaching building, and people on the street would occasionally turn their heads to look at Lu Yang, their eyes filled with curiosity.

Lu Yang seemed oblivious and walked even faster.

Yu Jing peeked out and looked at Lu Yang, then said to Jing Feng beside him, "I told you long ago that he was no good, but you didn't believe me."

“He’s so young and comes from a rural area, how could he possibly have so much money? It must have come from an illegitimate source.”

Jing Feng frowned but did not refute. Li Xingran and Zhou Yunkai, however, exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with worry.

After Lu Yang and his two companions entered the principal's office, Lu Yang politely said, "Principal, is it because someone is spreading rumors about me that you asked me to clarify things?"

The principal hadn't expected Lu Yang to be so direct, but he still put down his pen and asked seriously, "Don't you have anything to say?"

Lu Yang took four newspapers out of his bag and placed them on his desk: "The person who embezzled village collective property and is listed here is my father. I am reporting him for abusing his wife and son, which resulted in both of them being hospitalized."

"This newspaper reported that my cousin was involved in a scandal where her school's property was public property, and she was also a mistress. The woman who was stripped naked and beaten in the street by the wife was my cousin."

"The two remaining newspaper articles about the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law being hospitalized and the daughter-in-law suing her mother-in-law for medical expenses refer to my grandmother and my second aunt."

"If you had family like that, wouldn't you want to separate from them? Wouldn't you want to stay away from these outrageous people?"

The principal, along with Chen Jiahua, Lu Yang's counselor, and the director of the academic affairs department, carefully read the newspaper.

Lu Yang stood silently to the side, his eyes showing no emotion.

If someone has such a shameful secret in their family, they will definitely try their best to hide it.

But Lu Yang felt that his family scandals had to be aired in public because his family members were not normal people.

For example, this time, before he even started causing trouble for Lu Jianjun, Lu Jianjun smeared him first.

These things, taken individually, wouldn't be considered unusual in a family.

But so many things happening in the same place was too shocking. Even the student council president and Chi Yu-chung couldn't help but crane their necks to read the newspaper.

These days, it's quite difficult to forge newspapers, especially since these newspapers are laid out so formally that they look genuine at first glance.

After reading the newspapers, everyone in the room wore expressions that were hard to describe.

Ella Chen said with disgust, "You should take your mother and siblings and run away to a faraway place, and never see them again."

Lu Yang sighed and said, "I still have business in the provincial capital. After all, it's my hometown, and it's easier to do business there."

"Besides, my younger siblings are all studying there, so it's a bit difficult to move them all here. I've been trying my best to avoid them."

The coldness in the principal's eyes turned into sympathy. He calmed himself down and said, "You can go back to class now. Lu Yang, we will continue to investigate your matter. Don't feel pressured. Focus your energy on your studies."

Lu Yang nodded: "Then I'll be going now."

After saying that, he turned and walked out, and Chi Yucong and the student council president were also kicked out.

After the principal's office door closed, Ella Chen asked incredulously, "Principal, do you really think these things are true?"

The principal calmly said, "Since it's in the newspapers, it must be on TV too. I called them, and the TV station will find out."

The director of the academic affairs department sighed and said, "I have a deep impression of Lu Yang because he is extremely busy, refuses to participate in any on-campus activities, and spends most of his time outside."

"Later I heard from his classmate that he had been doing business and gradually shifted his business to our side."

The principal sighed and told them to leave first, while he contacted his personal connections to investigate Lu Yang's matter.

After returning to the classroom, Lu Yang quietly continued listening to the lesson.

Li Xingran and Zhou Yunkai both wanted to ask him how he was doing, but they didn't dare to say anything because they were in class.

It wasn't until after class that Zhou Yunkai couldn't help but ask, "Are you alright? What did the principal say to you?"

Lu Yang said with a smile, "The principal asked if the rumors about me in our school were true. I gave the principal a copy of the newspapers that my father and others had published that I had collected before."

"One serving?"

Zhou Yunkai scratched his head and asked.

Lu Yang said expressionlessly, "Yes, I have several copies of the newspapers that published those articles after their incident."

“These people are never peaceful. Even if I don’t provoke them, they won’t let me off the hook. Of course, I won’t give them the chance to slander me.”

Li Xingran couldn't help but click her tongue in surprise: "You carry it with you every day?"

Lu Yang shook his head and said, "Of course not, I just take it out when I have a feeling I'll need it."

"And I keep them in separate places: one set in my dorm room, one set in another house outside, one set in my hometown in the provincial capital, and another set in my mother's place."

Zhou Yunkai immediately scratched his head, feeling that the person sitting next to him wasn't Lu Yang, a living, breathing person, but more like an old fox.

After class, Lu Yang smiled and invited them to go to the cafeteria for lunch together.

For reasons unknown, Yu Jing followed along.

After getting their food, the group sat down at two tables, and Lu Yang quickly began to eat without saying a word.

After he took a couple of bites of his meal, he saw Chi Yucong carrying a tray and walking over with the student council president.

The two of them happened to be sitting next to Lu Yang, and opposite Yu Jing and Jing Feng.

"Lu Yang, the principal called your hometown newspaper and TV station to inquire about the newspaper."

"The principal is sure that the newspapers you gave me are all... real. You've really gone through a lot. How about I give the watch back to you?"

Chi Yucong genuinely sympathized with Lu Yang. Although his family wasn't wealthy, they were harmonious.

He really couldn't imagine how Lu Yang had managed to survive all these years living with such a group of people.

Lu Yang couldn't help but laugh and said, "It's just an ordinary watch, you can keep it."

"My restaurant should open next year. I'll tell you the address then, and you can bring some people to support it when you have time."

Chi Yucong took a bite of food, sighed, and said, "Alright, if you need any help in the future, just let me know."

Lu Yang shoveled two pieces of braised pork into Chi Yucong's bowl and said, "Then you must support my business when the time comes, senior."
